The seats work by evaporating your sweat by drawing ambient air through the seat.

As your sweat evaporates, it absorbs heat energy from you.

Your seat is full of dried up sweat after a while. Sweet, eh?

I work as an HVAC tech, so this to me is basically your standard swamp cooler.

You're right these ventilated seats suck - as in not being real effective - unless you can hover over the seats or pull your back away from the seat 1/4 inch.

i have been noticing lately that on some days my ventilated seats dont get as cold as others.. i thought maybe because im using them a lot more or i dunno. I also hear it kick on when i push the button.. little noise comes from under my seat.

some days the seat gets really cold.. some days i cant tell if they are even on

As I mentioned, how cold the seats feel depends how much you are sweating.

I'm sorry, but I've been sweating about as much as a man can sweat for the last month and I have a hard time feeling anything from these seats.

I wonder if you could rig a more powerful blower to these things?

Maybe I should see if I can rig up my wife's Dyson vacuum to the seats to get some sort of airflow and make them semi-effective.
