Default rim and tires help..newb

sorry im a big newb to the truck scene. just bought a 2009 dodge ram 1500 slt. and i wanna put a bigger tire and rim combo. not tremendously big but noticable but i have no idea what im looking for or what specs i need please help. sorry for the newbness.

well for starters there is an awesome search function on this site. But what size tire/rim do you have now.

right now i just have the stock 17s on. and im not exactly sure of the tire size off hand. i do know its nothing bigger than factory specs for that rim. Budget wise im not to particular just keep it under 1200 for a combo. and as far as what id like to look for im looking for something black not to flashy but something that looks good and id like to go bigger size and def. width wise but not so big that its going to have a big effect my gas mileage. thanks for the help

i paid 900 for the 20in rims, and 1250 for the tires. and yes they do affect mileage but not much. i get 13-14 in town, 17-19 hwy
