Default Where to get a "Custom Dyno Tune in Houston, TX , anywhere??

Does anyone know where I can get a Custom Dyno Tune in Houston or anywhere. I saw a thread at one time about sending something into get you truck tuned.

It was recommended to me to save my money and get a custom tune over any of the bolt on mods.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I'm going to bump this. I'm curious to about a good place to get a custom tune either by email or in Houston. I'm looking at picking up the Diablo Trinity, but I was reading the manual and it suggested a custom tune for any after market mods such as exhaust and CAI.

What is a good price for a custom tune and dyno? I have no idea, I'm wet behind the ears when it comes to tuning.

Funny its so commom to find so many spots you can get a motorcycle dyno-tuned yet its practicallily impossible to find any where to get a 4 wheel vehicle done. Anyways after doing a goggle search (its your friend) I found this spot........

I believe I looked them up before. I wasn't sure if they were a good choice because all houstonperformance seems to work with is mustangs. I don't know if it's better to find a place with experience or specialized with trucks versus ones that mainly do cars.

Thanks for the info though!

Supposedly there's a guy that will write custom tunes for the Diablo units for around $80.

Here is the email from Mike Wilson at Fleet Tuning Mike.Wilson@FleetTuning.com:

===================
Hello, thank you for the inquiry for a custom tune from Tuningsuperstore.com

A custom mail-order tune file costs $75 for naturally aspirated vehicles, $125 for cams/heads/strokers on naturally aspirated vehicles and $150 for supercharged/turbocharged applications. Tunes are setup for most naturally aspirated combinations and some mild supercharged/turbocharged applications as well.

Load the Diablo tune of your choice, then follow the instructions in the attached document then send me the original backup and last tune written file as well as the following information.

Year
Make
Model
Engine
Transmission Type
Rear gear ratio
Rear tire size
Induction type-Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction or Nitrous (horsepower level)
Air induction type
Throttle Body type and size
Intake manifold
Cylinder heads, and ported or not ported
Camshaft/camshafts duration and lift, part number if possible
Mass Air meter
Fuel injectors
Fuel pump
Exhaust manifolds/short tube headers/mid-length headers or full length headers
Off-Road or with cats
Cat-back

Then go to www.tuningsuperstore.com/customtuning <http://www.tuningsuperstore.com/customtuning> and click on the buy now button that suits your application. The naturally aspirated modified button is for heads cam vehicles, or basically any naturally aspirated vehicle that is not stock besides exhaust and or a cold air kit. Once everything has been received, you will receive your custom tuned file within 48 business hours unless specified otherwise.
====================

I am going to put the mods on my truck first then send the Diablo Tune to Mike Wilson.

How well does emailing tune information really work? They don't need a dyno or sensors to help tweak it?

Ok this is what my research turned up for Houston. This is for the Diablo Trinity tune.

Fast Lanes

We can do a customer tune for $250 on the dyno. We would require a
modification lists and also that you run 93 Octane fuel. Let me know if you
have any questions or we can we can fit you into the planner. All the best,

Houston Performance

$400 for a dyno tune

Strictly Performance

$95 an hour for a dyno tune.

What do you think the best deal is? I was a little shocked at some of the prices.
