Ok been on the phone with the dealer a couple of times.

They are telling me I need all kind of wiring.

The only thing I should need is the radio, disc, GPS antenna, Lock Pick for my video needs and factory Dodge rear camera right??

they said there is some "install kit"... I am not sure what it is? They are being vague and I think trying to overcharge me. Their price ws WAY out of line?

I was going to get the Lock Pick with the Uconnect Mic to to get blue tooth while its apart.

Once I am installed, I jsut have to take it to the dealer to have it flashed right?

Well I don't know but they want 200 to install uconnect plus the price of the uconnect to install it in my sons avenger which is less work that the ram.

I installed a ren and the uconnect module and mic myself all worked well accept the dam uconnect. Dealer has to star scan that part. They are suppose to charge .5 hours to starscan. Took one dealer 7 hoursone day and they charged me over hundred, got 62 back from customer service because they cant charge for what they dont do. I sucked up the other 50 cuz they did an oil change. Not sure if they have to do it with the RER even if you have allgig or whatever its called. I think you can though hook up after market camera's up to 3 say one rear, one front, one baby. I thought about putting a under hood and somehow it could record. For when you get service and your not there LOL.

If you can get uconnect to work without the dealer you don't need to get anything flashed. I don't think. As far as I know the uconnect is the only part that needs to be star scanned I could be wrong. They did however add everything I installed to my VINs so it's updated for future recalls etc.

Avoid the Lockpick unless you want to deal with the same audio problems many other owners have been complaining about recently.

Take a look at the ALLGIG-USB instead (Google search).

OK,

I have a QUESTION.

I see that Dodge makes LCD monitors to plug into the My gig system. Problem is that they say they only work with the sunroof.

Why?

I was liking the idea of keeping it all factory and just getting the My Gig installed, along with the backup camera. I saw these overhead monitors and saw its says sunroof only.

I wanted to avoid the high cost of the Mopar DVD player. I can get an All Gig adapter, and and get an after marker overhead monitor. I just really like the idea of being able to control the DVD player from the the head unit. I don't want to have to be reaching in the back to do that crap! I just thought it would be cool to have all factory stuff that's all.. The monitor only isnt bad considering the All-GIG is 300.00 plus monitor which will end up being 500 to 600 total. I can get one of these Dodge monitors for like 700 ish.... Anyone know why they wont work on non-sunroof crew cabs?

SO do I have to do plan B? Get the My gig, get the back up camera, get the All gig and this allows me to get a monitor of my choice? My wifes Acadia utilizes the front head unit for the DVD player and we love it.

I am pulling the trigger tomorrow somewhere and just NEED to be sure. this is a lot of money.

Thanks

Jim
