Default Is there anyone with the lockpick that "Doesn't" have audio dropouts?

Either with the coastal tech or Tv and Nav to go, is there anyone that doesn't get the audio dropouts? I am getting tired of it. I have read a lot of complaints of people having problems with these on 09's. I am just trying to figure out if I have a bad lockpick or something else is going on.

The audio just quits for a few seconds or a bit longer, there has been previous posts about it. I have had it happen quite a bit off and on, it is irritating, I was trying to find out if anyone happens to have a lockpick on a 09 that works fine.

im getting sick of it too. ive had mine since june or july and i dont go an hour without atleast one dropout. sometime 2-3. it seems to be at the most critical times too when your about to hear something of importance on a radio station in traffic news or watching a dvd. my son sits patiently waiting for the sound to kick back in but he shouldnt have to. especially since i dropped about 1600 for the complete setup. i should get better quality than this. who makes the lock pick device? is it one company or a band of comapnies? no matter what, we should demand something get fixed cuz its a big issue with me.

What reason do you have it anyway? Is it worth it if it was working good? I am gonna call them and see if they will money back guarantee it?

I do not see any support for the Dodge Ram on the side of the Lockpick website. They claim they work in the Ram but not as much support etc for them. Is it the lockpick itself, the installation being loose? Where did you locate it? Is it overheating? When ready I am going to call them and get a warranty, I want to try this out for a bit since it really is only for the camera option , cheaper than the factory camera alone.

There seems to be a ton of folks having issues with the Lockpick, which is one of the reasons I've put my purchase on the back burner. I haven't heard of any problems with AllGig setup though.

No it's not loose, it doesn't overheat I don't think. Something is wrong with them on the 09 RER radios. It allows the dvd to work when driving and gps input while driving. I also have mine hooked up to the camera so I can turn it on and off when I wan't. It's nice to have but sucks because it cuts out.

i have mine set up to play while driving because my son sits in the middle of the back seat of my 09 crew cab. one day i realized he was sitting there quietly and patiently on a 45 minute drive to mobile, AL. I told my wife he needs to have dvd entertainment. So since i cant stand wires hanging everywhere and clamping some gaudy screens to the headrests, i opted for a 30GB RER Nav unit Brand New. I got the lockpick device with all the trimmings, like Ipod connect, a/v output/input...etc. well ive had the audio dropout since its been hooked up. for the first 3-4 days i figured it was my sat. radio cutting out but realized it was doing it durring movies and my ipod. i have over $1600 invested in this half *** working system and im not too happy with it but the guy i bought it from, while VERY prompt while inquiring and ordering, is NOT SO PROMPT now that im calling back with problems. so thats my story and im sticking to it.

I bought a lockpick last Feb or so for my 09 Ram and experienced the drop outs. E-mailing customer service for Coastal Tech was a waste of time. I always got the response "We're working on it." I have an RER radio in my 08 JK and I tried a little experiment and swapped the lock pick to that vehicle. No dropouts. They must have changed something in the radios from 08 to 09. I just left it in the JK. I don't get as much use of it in that vehicle because I drive my truck more, but I couldn't stand the drop outs. Eventually I'm thinking of trying the NavTV unit in the truck.

I heard the warnings of Coastal Tech's poor customer service but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I learned my lesson the hard way. Fortunately I have another vehicle their shoddy product works in. The 09's have been out for long enough where they should have come up with a fix for it by now. I'm almost surprised there isn't a lawsuit. Anyway, I'd be curious to see if anyone on here has had a better experience with them than me.
