Default Damaged during transit to dealership.

Can a vehicle that is damaged during transit to the dealership be sold as new? Or can they just repair the damage.

I'm talking about a broken window and paint damage from the tie downs rubbing on the vehicle. A bit of slight interior damage also but minimal.

Not without being disclosed to the new buyer. Each state is a little different.

It use to depend on the dollar value of the damage. Each state may be different but under a certain dollar amount damage did not have to be disclosed.

as long as the vehicle has never been sold or titled; it will still be "new".

I would refuse that vehicle, change your mind. You don't have to take the vehicle you ordered if you are not happy with it.

Yes it has to be disclosed but if it is sent back to the factory for repairs, which it usually is, it will be repaired to factory specs and then can be sold, to dealers at a discount. What is good about all of this, it could be a great buy for you and it will not show up on the title or even a carfax later. Just FYI. Good luck.

It does vary from state to state, but is usually available at your states DMV website. In my state it's a percentage of damage based on the MSRP, so the more expensive the car, the more damage it can have without being disclosed.
