I think they are harmonic dampeners for the chassis. Possibly they are not used on certain body styles. Mine is a Crew and has them.

they are to cancel out vibrations in the frame. to isolate it from going into the cab.
other than that they are just extra parts

Could you snap a picture and post it here?
That would be helpful!
Thanks

Subscribed. This place is like Lowe's, you never knew you needed something until you see it. In this case, I never paid attention to this and now I NEED to know.

You may be right, because the other RAMs that I looked at were not the Sport, and they all had this damper.
Maybe someone with a 2009 Ram Sport can chime in, and let us know if theirs has it...

it depends if you get a lot of vibrations in the cab,(plastic squeeking/ratilling or drinks vibrating in cup holders). and i personaly would not be overly concerned but check with your local dealer and maybe they will go good for it and just toss them on for you.
good luck and let me know how it goes

I dont think I notice any weird vibratoin in the cabin.
As a matter of fact, I though that the 2010 models I tested that had the dampers were noisier than my truck...weird...
