Default Is there any point?

I don't know much about flashes, so here I am again. I haven't been able to get someone to go with me to drop my truck off at the dealership yet and I'm pretty anxious about just saying screw it and using the tuner...
So my question is: Is there any point in going and get all the flashes done if I will be using the predator?

I would want the latest software downloaded before messing with a performance download.

Yes doesnt the tuner have the ability to go back to original state when you first used it?

Is there any way for the dealer to tell a flash was put on the ECU and then removed?

I read somewhere that it erases any footprint from the tuner, but I'm not certain

On the DIESEL sites ALL TUNERS leave FOOTPRINTS.Reset key counts, other parameters reset.Boxes(chips to not). Some have found that the RESTORE to factory program is NOT what was in the vehicle. But a generic stock program. One post a while back said the dealer found South American specs.lingo or such on the owners vehicle after he took it in for a issue. They were like what the hell.Owner was like DARN.It was one of the well known company's that do performance downloads.Owner of QUAD boxes explained about footprints on downloads verse a box that interrupts the signal and how and whys of footprints.

only advantage would be you will miss any driveability issues that were fixed ( see other posts on what they address ) since the tune would only affect other parameters. My truck is a 12/08 build and I have a bit of a rough idle at times, but not enough to worry about and MDS is pretty smooth so unless they reflash at next oil change, I will load the tune on the 12/08 pcm tune.

coming from the Ford world prior to this 09 Ram, I would just flash back to stock before a dealer visit about one week prior ( on all three of the F150's as well as we had a 93 octane performance tune on the wife's Ford Edge. ) Never had any issues or questions asked.
