Default Bilstein details

The Bilstein Kit offers a replacement strut with a move spring seat thus the adjustable lift. Here's a link to a pic. You can see the grooves where the spring seat goes. There are three different grooves. Click on the box. It will take you to the photo.

Thanks for the explanation. So the coil spring just expands then with whatever groove you're using? With the coil spacer lifts, does the stock strut bolt to the coil spacer?

Yes. The spacer goes between the strut and the factory mount on top. Here's a link to spacer lift instalation instructions.

There is NO spacer with the billstien kit. Thats the beauty of it.

Just looking for an update on this . . . How did the install go, what settings did you use, and most important of all . . . Any "after" pics ?

Just a FYI. I clicked on the link for the spacer kit to the instruction sheet. When you are taking apart the upper ball joints / tie rod ends on your truck do NOT hit the knuckle with a hammer. Use the correct puller tool. You can stress or even crack the aluminum knuckle. I know of two instances of broken aluminum knuckles... dont know what caused the failures (improper assembly / disassembly, or just wear and tear), there is a note in the factory service manual about this.

Thanks
