Thanks 72Combo. Great link. I'll look more carefully at it once I get started.
I'm pretty handy, but with wood, even electricity. It's those electrical things that I can't afford to replace that intimidate me.
Any tips on getting that infamous centre chrome ring out? How is it held in?
BTW I didn't order the cable. I don't have a back-up cam, but do have the sensors. I'm happy with that and I already have the rear DVD in the headliner. I asssumed I don't need it, so should be an even easier install.

I have factory uConnect already, or is that statement just for aftermarket install?
Thanks for the help if you know the answer.
The AllGig shouldn't affect uConnect at all, especially since you already have it factory installed. As far as the REN radio goes, NavTV's website should have all the different radio information you need. I have the RER and had no issues.

Thanks for your help, that was my next question as to what radio you had. I guess all this info is just confusing at first. I did a software upgrade, didn't need to, so now all i have to do is install. Did you get the AV harness?

Yes, I got the AV harness, but I did not install it. I basically got it because it was a good price and eventually I do want to add a rear DVD. It will be a project for a future date though.

There's TONS of room in the Ram's dash. You shouldn't have a problem finding a place to run the wiring. I velcro'ed the AllGig unit itself on the black plastic shelf below the radio opening. That way it won't rattle around an make noise if I hit a few bumps. It will also be easy to connect a laptop to it without having to remove the radio.

Just use a plastic tool of some kind to pry it out, go around a bit at a time dont try to pop one side all at once although sometimes it pops up quicker than expected. Its one of those take it easy, it has little teeth that hold it all the way on each prong that holds it so it's it there but not impossible, I would say warm the truck up inside so it's not brittle? Just a suggestion. Good Luck.

Thanks man. All good suggestions - I can visualize those little tabs that pop into slots, holding it in place. I'm usually a slow go kind anyway - it's my dad that will just get a bigger screwdriver! We all become our dads at some point though?

Mines in, works great...I just have to take time to make the relay system to run the factory camera at some point. I left out the AV harness for the time being.

Mine is in also. all I had to do was plug it in and button everything up. i had the factory RER, camera, bluetooth, and uconnect. Just a pionter guys, if you have the converter installed there is a screw behind the cover of the converter outlet that needs to be removed before the entire face plate comes off. Took me about an hour and I love it.
