Angry DENT at dealership... PISSED

So I drop my truck off for warranty work, get the call for pick up... All is good, cust service said go ahead and run the truck through the wash - I thought awesome.

Pull up and the guys says just drive through and it will start, got half way in and the machine doesn't start. Guy taps my tailgate and says back up, tried to back up and the truck is stuck in the machine tracks. So he hits the lever and the machine turns on. As the machine turns on, my buddy and I hear a hard thump on the truck. We finish running through the machine and check out the truck. Right on my hemi emblem on the pass side, HUGE DENT!!!

I pull back up to cust service and told the guy what happened, he took down my work and cell numbers and said he'd have to talk to his Manager about it...

If I don't hear from them today, I'm driving back down there tomorrow and asking to speak with the GM about this...

Do ya'll think I'll be held at fault for being the individual driving it through the dealership wash station???

thx.

its completely their fault. a friend of mine had a similar thing happened, took his car to the dealership for something, he got it back and there was a dent, he went through the chain of command and it eventually got fixed, out of their pockets.

Good luck!! Read my post ROOF LEAKING!!!!!!!!! 3,590miles - The dealer told me the same thing, they have to call the general manager,to authorize replacement of water damaged seats, rugs and a stained headliner.Well almost 2 weeks later nobody has returned my phone calls, and dodge customer service sent me an email today, telling me to go to another dealer for a second opinion!!!! They're good at selling you a truck, but when it comes to fixing them they don't stand behind what they sell. Not in N.J. anyway.

I would not have left with the truck. Front of the line in the body shop and only accept a new panel, no filled crap

I hear ya, I went back after work instead of going the next day. They're already trying to put me at some fault. I told them hell no, I want to talk to your manager and I knew this would happen if I left. They told me that the manager was in meetings all day and he would call me tomorrow about it. I'll do what it takes to get this fixed for free, even if I have to call up the news crew and report in uniform on how military personnel are treated by local dealerships...

Park right outside where cars go into their service dept with a sign saying this is what happens when you get your car serviced here.

Absolutely their fault and don't expect them to call you back because they most likely won't. Get ready to go through some real **** to get it fixed.

If it were me.. I would make one more trip to the dealership.. I would walk right in and ask to be pointed to the general mgr's office. They will either take you there or try to disuade you.. either way, if you are not allowed to talk to the GM (and get what you want out of him), start informing everyone you are having contact with, that you are going to go outside... and you are going to get on your cell phone and make two phone calls. First one is a call BACK to your attourney, to tell him that you have tried the final time to get this resolved without litigation, and now you will be pursuing it legally. Then inform those around you that you are calling the local "action news" team to speak with them about the dealerships business practices towards military personel, minorities, handicapped, whatever you may happen to have going for you and such.

If that don't get you the GM right now.. then you will need to follow through with those threats.. cuz that is the only way you are gonna get satisfaction out of them.
