Clean slate on death wobble
So no one else is going to figure this out for us. I though we should list things about our trucks to see if we can find anything in common that might be causing the issue.
My Truck
TRX4
33" tires (brand spanking new, put on yesterday) on mickey thompson 17"'s (offset so they stick out)
I've had this issue with several sets of tires/rims and it's both in the front and back at around 70mph.
No lift
Any similarities out there?

Once again - try dynamic balancing. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/ If I can balance a 35" mud tire on a steel rim with a welded rock ring using these then a street tire is no big deal.
BTW - death wobble is not what you have. Death wobble results in the steering wheel being jerked out of your hands as the vehicle lurches back and forth violently.

I got a flat the other day and had the tire removed from the wheel to be fixed, once I got it back on - it had a horrible wobble... I then realized that the tire was not seated back on the wheel in the original position and needed to be balanced, once balanced, wobble was gone. Go to a good tire place and get all 4 balanced and rotated and see if that fixes it. If not, then you might be looking at a warped wheel or shaft.

I've never heard of the "death wobble" happening on a vehicle that didn't have a solid front alxe. Not saying it can't happen, just I've never heard of it.

there's always room for human error, the cheapest route to cancel out is to go to another rep tire place and get them all balanced again.
did you have the wobble before you got the new wheels and tires?

3 times at the dealer for an 03 Durango I had for a vibration, finally after receiving paperwork stating in fact that there is a vibration but it was in an acceptable range....well I took it to an alignment shop to get everything that they did repeated, wheels rotated, tires balance and alignment....didn't need alignment and only one tire was severely out of balance. They balance it. I paid the 89 or whatever and right away hit the expressway, No vibration at 60mph 70, 80 90 100 100something and then it hit the limiter and no vibration. Took it right to the dealer to my salesman since he told me if I have problems with anything contact him. When I told him I had been there 3 times for the problem that I had to pay to have fixed. Showed him the receipts under warranty from here what they did and then the one from the alignment shop. I got 10 free oil changes cuz they cannot refund money for stuff like that. They don't even usually give you anything. The service manager said can we take it for a ride, I said no because remember you told me that since the vibration was over 60 mph the first time that they could not go over the speed limit....I said not even 5 mph. NOPE. So I said you won't notice since you can't drive over 60 mph. He said he wanted me to drive I said no I will not drive over the limit with passengers. He did not want me to get the oil changes because he didn't believe me. I said it's all in black and white. You guys would not test drive it over 60 the shop I took it to tested it there on some machine, maybe a dyno? Anyway they said I was good to at least 80 mph, that was as fast as they could do it. I am not remembering these numbers that well since it was a few years ago..and 03 Durango, when I first got it, so if you see this same story somewhere, hopefully I didn't repeat myself...hate getting old. Anyway so now when I have a vibration or anything like that I take it to an alignment shop first, the one I trust to tell me what is really wrong they know when my warranty is up they get my biz. Plus I love telling the dealer what is wrong and being absolutely correct, including name and part number LOL
Sorry to ramble
OH, does anyone remember those balance machines they used to use you set the wheel and tire on top and there was a bubble in the middle like a level and you put weights wherever needed....I never had vibrations. Was that Static balancing????
