I hate to sound rude, but does no one read the owners manual anymore? I read all of this off dodge's site (where you can access the owners manual) before I even took delivery of the truck. To answer STVsherrod, it's the feature where you can roll down the windows with the remote to cool the interior before you get in.

nope haven't read the manual.. didn't plan on buying this truck till i seen it on the lot.. i had very limited time home after i bought it and was not spending that time reading a manual.. i didn't know it was on the dodge web site though. i have alot of time on my hands now so i might have to read it. anyway, remote windows, pretty cool. hope my truck has that..

Why can't you put the windows back up with the remote?

The remote windows are nice in the summer - when they work. I would be happy if the doors would just lock or unlock each time I pressed the button on a regular basis.

You dont have to have the remote start to auto roll down windows, just push the unlock button twice and leave your finger on it till the windows go down.

Agreed. With as many little features these new trucks have, I don't see why you couldn't double hit the lock button and have all windows (including sunroof and rear slider) close automatically. On my old truck I accidently left the sunroof open and it got rained on. Now THAT sucked.

The reason you can't close the windows is purely liability. In the US, lawyers look at liability much closer than in other countries since we seem to be so prone to sue for no reason as a people. Another example of this is that in other countries you can use the remote to retract and also raise the top on most BMW 3 and 6 series (in the last few generations at least), but in the US you have to use the key in the door and I think it only goes either up or down even in that situation. This is just a single example of many features US customers are denied due to fears of product liability. In the case of these windows the concern is that you might roll some poor kids head up and kill/injure them if they are playing around the truck and you decide to roll up the windows without visually confirming it's safe.

Do they not go down if they sense an obstruction? I thought they did.
