Update on MPG trip back to Oklahoma
When you live in the bayou country, the definition of a hill is a rock in the road. I actually got 23.2 on the 24 mile causeway bridge over Lake Pontchartrain, with cruise, @1600rpm, with 3.21 gears (yes they do suck!). Today we are in the Mississippi delta, with real hills, and am averaging 19.5, (70% hwy 30 city) QC-5.7L
Of couriosity, do these States require 10% ethanol mix ??
That is required in Arizona, and really kills my mileage on roadtrips until I can refuel in SE Utah or W Colorado. The 100% gasoline fuel gives me that bump back up to near the EPA MPG estimates.

My TRX4 does ok so far on all the long trips I've taken. Hemi engine, I get 17.6 on average on the interstate at 71-72mph. This is with no wind and on the flat Florida roads. If there is any headwind I've seen my milage drop to 15.3 on the interstate at the same speeds. Best I've seen on the interstate with a slight tailwind was 19.2. And as for how many miles I've racked up so far, it's going in for it's 24,000 service today. Bought it new at the beginning of January. Did do a few test at lower speeds on the interstate, I get 18.5 or better at 65mph and over 19.5 at 60mph.
I drive mine to toronto every day, about an hour and a half from where i live and i average 24mpg almost every day, ive had it as high as 28.6 once... the highway speed in canada is 60mph i was doing 65 in cruise control most of the way...
Any mods and what kind of fuel are you using? The most I've seen was 20.3 MPG going 60 with MDS on. They have 10% ethanol fuel here in Houston, maybe that explains the drop. I started using a different gas station.
Only mods are K&N filter drop in, and mufflex muffler thats it. I just don't get this thing!!
Are you talking about an imperial gallon? That would explain part of the better mileage. I believe the imperial gallon is equivalent to 1.2 US gallons which would bring your mileage to approx. 20mpg.
