Somebody please explain to me how reaction time configures into a 1/4 mile if we weren't running an auto start program last night. I kind of didn't like it since it takes the driver reaction out of play. Anyway If I ran a 14.776 with a .151 reaction time does this mean I would have ran a 14.927 if we were actually launching on the tree. This is what I thought and my bro said no there was some type of formula.
Reaction time has nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time. All a good reaction time does is help you beat the other guy if your cars are close to begin with. You can run the same 14.7 time even if you launch .5 seconds later. The only difference in 1/4 mile times are a combination of launching skills, traction, and shifting techniques. Anyway, those times you posted are very good numbers. I haven't even got to drive my truck yet since I bought it!

I was thinking about that to 94, drag racing in wheel drive. I think the transfer case is gonna be the most at risk? Fairly obvious...if you were doing corners the front cvjoints.
When I installed me radio and uconnect the dealer could not program it in Star Scan so they wanted to see the installation, to save money I disassembled it all at home during lunch and well when you take the cover off and disconnect the switches and stuff there behind it, you get stuck into constant 4x4...and the dealer told me it won't hurt anything to drive it like that....he insisted that some of the trucks are in 4wd all the time....I said he was mistaken and he told me the ones that say have the choice of "auto"on the 4wd switch then it's in all the time. I told him no way, not full 4wd!!!.
Sorry to get kinda off track there but I sure do know that driving on dry pavement in 4wd causes the front to hop and squeal etc. If you absolutely have to drive it like that take corners slowly and as wide as you can.

I did not know this was bad for the drivetrain. I have used 4x4 on the freeways here a fair amount, maybe 55mph max in the snow. But then its mostly straight and certainly not dry pavement. Did the same thing with my 04 QC.
Reminds me of the time I was watching pinks all out and a Cummins Diesel ran a 10.46@126 mph. If I remember right said he had to start in 4 wheel drive and switch to 2 wheel after he got going due to the torque would shred the tires at the start if he didn't. Was fun watching a truck smoke some cars.
