Allgig question for those who have one...
I just opened mine and I noticed that the unit itself has a distinct rattling sound when I shake it from side to side. Did anyone else notice this? It sounds like the contents just tapping against the metal case but my concern is that once I put it behind the radio it will rattle and drive me crazy. Anyone else experience this????
mine was the same way. I don't notice any rattling behind the dash. I used some velcro to mount it right below the radio on a little shelf. You will see once the dash is off. It is like it was made for it!
hey on another note.. do you have RER or REN? If you have the RER does your navigation in the POI entry screen delay after each letter you push? I want to know this before you install the ALL-GIG. TIA
no worries...

Thanks for the replies. I might try the piece of foam idea.
Milkman, yeah the alpha input is delayed. The unit seems to evaluate the letter you enter and then figure out what other letter could be next (depending on street/ POI names that are available in the area you entered). The entry seems to get slightly quicker as you enter letters because there are fewer choices for next letter. Very annoying and to me unecessary. I was in a a Kia this weekend that did the same thing only MUCH quicker.

Have you updated to 2.043 yet? I updated mine a couple of days ago
but have not used the nav yet however there have been several post
on mofv.com that says it is faster.
My AllGig rattled and I too was concerned that this might be audible from behind the dash. I too velcroed mine to the black plastic shelf under the radio opening and haven't heard a peep since I buttoned it up.
