Those of you who are getting it at exactly 2500, do you have early build trucks with the "other" engine? Makes me wonder if either the early engines or early firmware are hard coded to 2500. The one time my light came on was around 3K. I get the oil changed every 2500 miles so I wouldn't normally see the light - dealer resets at each oil change.

I have a very early build...Oct '08. Maybe that's the issue.

Mine's a late March truck and it came on at just over 2,500 miles so it has nothing to do with the build date.

Why worry about this? If it comes on and it is not time to change your oil, just reset it.

Anyone know off hand how to reset the oil change indicator. My evic says I have a message and it says to change oil soon, see dealer. The oil was just changed and the dealer didn't reset it.

Procedure is in yours owners manual. Very simple process.

Unless reset, this message will continue to display each
time you turn the ignition switch to the ON position. To
turn off the message temporarily, press and release the
Trip Odometer button on the instrument cluster. To reset
the oil change indicator system (after performing the
scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
(Do not
start the engine).

2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three
times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE:
If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not

reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.
