Well I got my exhaust(16870) Magnaflow, as it turns out this kit came with the rubber isolator for the driver's side tailpipe, the chrome tips are not welded on the kit I recieved though, no biggee. I made an offer to an Ebay seller named Performance Peddler, got it for $534(free shipping).I'll start next weekend, just got back from the east coast today................................Kevin.

Yeah Kevin, i mentioned that the 16870 doesnt have weilded tips, the 16869 is the one that has them weilded on.

I think its probably for the better that they arent, you can make them conture the bumper better w/ the clamps.

Hey whats up man? I was just refering to post #19, yours. The reason why I mentioned this was not to correct you, I thought b/c it did'nt have them welded on, there's two different versions of the kit.I guess I was wrong about that.Anyway, looks like I'm doing the swap this weekend, wish me luck.....................Kevin.

Why do you guys all settle for spending 5, $600 for exhaust!? I have never in my life spent more than $300 installed from a custom exhaust shop including parts. You guys should do some more research and try to just buy the muffler and exhaust tips you want, and then bring your trucks to an exhaust shop so they cant bend the piping to fit for you. What I do is I am buying my Flowmaster muffler thru "21st century exhaust" over the phone, they have extremely reasonable prices. Then I go to my exhaust guy who will WELD in everything, no clamps, perfectly done and snug to any custom bumper, all for $300....Save your self the money guys and dont buy these "to fit" kits from manufactuers, there stealing your money so bad.

UPDATE:
Well me and my buddy did the swap, took a little less than 3 hours to swap out the muffler and dual pipes/bumper, used a lift at a place called KarKraft on Ft Sill,Ok. The tips look perfect or close to it under the bumper cutouts, sounds great too.

P.S. In response to the previous post, the exhaust shop in Lawton,Ok, outside Ft Sill wanted $400 labor plus parts, my exhaust cost me $534 shipped and its what I wanted(Magnaflow) I don't like the sound of Flowmaster.Besides that, I like looking at something that I did, just call me crazy.....................................Kevin.

In short...mandrel bent tubing is a 100$ extra, stainless is 100$ extra, and if you go up to 3" it's another 100$ extra to bend. That being said, Midas wanted 500+ to do my 3" system so I ordered mine from AFE for the same price and beautifully made I might add. I shopped around and have friends in the business...you get what you pay for. I chose quality as well as looks...same as most of us on here did with what ever system of their choice. I think our trucks deserve the best and these after market companys use state of the art equipment to perfect the fit. You won't see that in any muffler shop...nor will you see perfect bends and welds like puters can do. I appreciate your concern, but this is a new era for performance parts and they are' expensive.

Ditto...out of several shops I visited, not one had 3"stainless, and only two could mandrel bend 3". But the two that could... all they had in supply in stock was 3" aluminized pipes and one of those shops was Midas. 300$ for the bends and pipes, plus cost of what ever muffler $, and 160$ for labor to install!!! Even if you take off the 100 extra for my 3" pipes it still would have been over 500$!

I spent 550 for a borla muffler, tips, pipes and labor. I was going to get the magnaflow kit but I would have still had to pay to get it welded on. The borla kit was around a 1,000 so I figured I got out of it a little cheaper. We all have our own beliefs and our own way of doing things, so I laugh when people get mad because someone states their opinion... or their lies
