Default Allgig and rear view camera

I just got my camera handle from the dealer and want to install it. I bought the Allgig module but I can't seem to figure it out. Has someone done this install? If so do you have instructions for the hookup at the radio.

Thanks

I installed the camera using the instructions Mopar provided. I then installed the AllGig with the instructions they provided. I did not hook the rear camera up through the AllGig, so I can only see my backup camera in reverse. If you want to be able to see your back up camera while driving forward (still not sure why this would be necessary) you can use the supplied wiring on the AllGig to power the camera as opposed to wiring it to the connector under the TIPM. That was by far the worst part of installing the Mopar camera, so you might want to use the AllGig wiring for sake of ease.

My advice would be to install your camera using the Mopar instructions. When you get to the step where they want you to remove the TIPM, you can make your choice on whether you want to cut, splice and solder in a tight working space, or you can crimp to the AllGig supplied wiring. Other than the power wiring, the Mopar directions are complete and I didn't have a problem following them.

Hope this helps...

Did you go to the dealer to have it set up with the computer?

if you hook up via Mopar instructions... you have to have it "wi-fied" at the dealer....

if go through the ALL-GIG I dont think you have to go to the dealer... with that being said, my camera is hooked up like factory and only viewed in reverse.. I saw no need to need it for anything else..

I am eventually going to add a front view camera to the ALL-GIG for parking, or those situations I am unsure if there is a kiddie up front...for a few bucks and some wiring it is worth it...

I am doing that soon...

You won't have to go to the dealer even if you install it in the TIPM. That is how mine is wired and it works fine, just set it up in the allgig.

Let me explain: Hook it up to the backup wire in the TIPM, then you activate it with the software for the Allgig. No need to go the the dealer, If you want to wire it to come on while driving, you will need to add a relay and activate that function in the allgig also, but you will not need to go to the dealer to activate the camera with the allgig for any reason.

RBRK said it. With the AllGig, you can install it following the Mopar instructions and not have to go to the dealer to activate it. The AllGig in a sense, activates it for you.

That is the purpose of Allgig to circumvent the dealer trips.
