Answer: Yes

Get the cable, you can save tunes to your PC rather than relying on the device. I have my stock tune sitting on my PC as a backup.

Well, I tried another unit today. This time when I hooked it up to the data cable, it immediately downloaded the calibration update that the first one never said **** about. After 45 minutes of progress to install the 93 tune, it said format error. I tried again. 45 minutes more. format error. I damn near threw the ****ing thing thru the windshield. I returned it and got a refund. I'll never buy Diablo again. I realize that this is a brand new truck with a brand new ECU. I know there will be bugs. That is what beta testing is for. Let people who are willing to deal with this **** do the testing. Then and ONLY then do you release your product to the retail market. If you don't follow those steps, you end up with severely pissed off customers like myself who will never buy your **** again, and more than likely steer everyone they know away from it as well.

Wow the Predator sounds like a huge pain. I got the Trinity and besides a little frustration in the beginning to get it to work with Vista, I got it working. The CD that comes with it is out of date. I had to download everything off the site and update it.

I felt stupid once I got all the steps down and got it to work. Now the problem is there is to much knocking/pinging with the 87 tune so back to stock and consider a custom tune.

I am sorry that you have had so many problems with the Diablo tuner you purchased. I bought one over 3 months ago and have had no problems. The first update is updating your truck to the latest flash that Chrysler has available, not a Diablo update. I know that this update will take some time, but after you install it, you will not have to do it again. Once you have taken care of all of this, you will be very happy with the performance that the Diablo can unlock. I started with the canned 93 tune and now I am running a custom tune.

Default Looks to complicated for me

After reading all of this thread I'm not sure I want this tuner any more. I was considering it but I am not that good on the computer and I think I would probably end up totally frustrated. When I first read about the diablo tuner I was hoping it would be a simple install but it looks like a person needs to be a computer guru to make it work.
