What is the screwdriver tool called that a hex shaped tip?

Default What is the screwdriver tool called that a hex shaped tip?

I see it in the picture to install the mopar fog kit set for the rams, wtf is it called?

i looked through the install guide, didnt see anything your describing. but hex shape is either torx bits(star) or allen keys(hex)

Maybe its not a hex, they are using it to take the headlamp/fog lamp switch out of the bezel on the dash. By the illustration.

It's a trim removal tool. The tip is flat like a wide screwdriver or a chisel, then there is a chunk missing out of the middle. I don't see how you saw a hex shape in that.

When I went to remove the headlight switch, I reached under the dash and lightly pushed the tabs that hold the entire vent and headlight switch surround. With that in my hand it was a lot easier to remove the headlight switch by simply pressing on it from behind. Depending on your reach and hand size you should be able to just reach under the dash and press just the headlight switch out from behind.

My wife uses the same tool in here stained glass and she calls it a Fid. Not sure of the spelling but I used to use them all over at Chrysler when I worked there, always had one in my back pocket. To fix rubbler around windows on the old Bvans. Fix trim, pry out plastic parts and switches. The supplier for the window rubbers actually supplied them.
