So, I was on the dodge website messing around, and the sport is still not an option to build, but there are pics up of it on the main site and the front grill is different than the 09's... does anyone know if this is true?

I got a call from the owner of the dealer to report that we got a VIN on the sport model we are waiting on to go to production, so I asked him. He said, that he was not aware of any changes, and that if it did, he could order me an 09 sport grill and swap them out if I did not like the one that comes with the 2010.

I don't like surprises, so I'm just trying to have all of my ducks in a row for when the truck finally comes in.

 

Your truck should be built with the painted grille. The front bumper is also slightly different in that the lower lip is a little larger for better aerodynamics. The difference is slight so you probably will not even notice it. I can't remember the exact measurement but it is about 1/2" or so.

There are several other minor changes for 2010 all for the better. So don't worry yourself about it at all.

Shouldn't be hard to find someone with an '09 willing to swap with you. I like many others have already put a painted one on but there are many still wanting to.

 

I agree, lots to be had and most like brand new. And at the dealer's price, you'd save yourself a few hundred dollars since the chrome is a lot more than the painted version. If I remember correctly, the chrome version is over $500 list vs the painted grille which lists for around $300.

I'd just wait and see what your truck comes with. It is supposed to have the painted grille but with all the parts shortages and supplier issues, who knows for sure.

 

i agree. from what the dealer can tell, everyone indicates it will come in as the bright chrome, but all of the pics of the 2010 sports have the grills painted to match. I'm personally a fan of the chrome grill, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If not though, I believe the dealer told me he'd switch them out for me at no cost... I'm counting down the days now as I've been waiting since Aug for this thing to come in.

 

I have a 2009 Chrome Sport grill for anyone interested. Pulled off at 2500 miles, mint.

Anyway, if you do pull the color match off for a chrome, I think you'd be the first in this or the other forum. Most people kill for the color match.
