Default Extra Wire behind heater bezel

I just remembered this when I was changing out the radio I have the center console but behind the front bezel there is an extra connector that did not plug into anthing, I think the connector was green. I should have taken a pic, wait I did let me see if I saved it, I found it, it is loose but it just plugs into the plastic in the circle without the wire. I wonder what it is for, possibly to put in a double switch for the heater?

That **** is for the 4 x 4, but the original poster has a 4 x 4 . I wonder if he has the center console ? On my truck with the bench seat there is a plug on the left that connects to the switched cigarette outlet.

question for OP: Do you remember what colors the wires were? I can check the wiring diagram.

Looks like he does have a center console, I can see the shifter in his picture.

I'm not familiar with the center consoles. Are there two cigarette outlets? I have two in the dash. One is always on and one is switched with the ignition. I wonder if this wire is unused in center console vehicles as it would not reach the outlet. I'm guessing the wire harness is the same for both versions of the truck.

I had my dash panels off recently on my relatively base model truck and there were quite a few unused connectors everywhere I looked.

maybe it is the plug for the heated stearing wheel or the cooled seats.
