The last two vehicles I bought were off the lot and that's a different detail process. However, I will NEVER let a dealer detail an on the lot car again. Those clowns seem to think that drenching the tires in Amour All is a proper detail technique. By the time I got home I had to rewash the vehicle to get all of the tire shine off the side of the truck. You could see the "splash" pattern as the tires slung off the tire shine.
To follow up on the order date, I put my order in the 2nd week of August... I've been patiently waiting, but now it is killing me. I am going to follow up with the dealer this a.m. to see if we can get confirmation that it shipped on saturday, as it was supposed to.
Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention on my order that I got 3.92 gears, 32 gallon tank, remote start and security, class IV receiver, and chrome tube sidesteps. Also, calling to add the easy down tailgate accessory. My father in laws tundra has it built in and it is pretty nice not worrying about always gently putting down the tailgate.

I got a little lucky with mine, given my escapade buying from the dealer in Ohio, but the truck being on a lot in CT.... When I got to CT it was not prepped. Seats and carpet still had plastic on them. Maunufacturing stickers/inventory stickers on the wheels, windshield (which were hard to get off). The plastic film that goes on the outside was off though. They should have a plastic film on the front bumper ect during shipping. So mine was not really ever 100% prepped, which is what I wanted in the first place. The Ohio dealer wanted me to bring it to them, but it was already home and I was going to do it.
So I guess what I am saying is a dealer that follows the rules will not let you take it without it being prepped.
I have heard some of the plants will be down 2 weeks before Christmas and the first 2 weeks of January.
Got an update yesterday that my sport is now in "F" status, meaning it is built and sitting there waiting to ship. It was supposed to on 12/5, but obviously that did not happen... still optimistic that it will show up late this week or early next.
How are you guys finding out up to date information? I just called Chrysler and the "retard" I mean nice lady was as helpful as a dead fish... Probably F's like one as well. Venting here - my bad...
Anyways, Does anyone know where plant #11 is? Any Chrysler workers on here that can find out?

A pickup truck plant in Warren, Mich., will shut for almost a month, while one factory in Belvidere, Ill., and two in Toledo, Ohio, will close three days early for the Christmas break and will stay shut the first week of January, said industry sources familiar with Chrysler's production plans.
The cutbacks come after a 25 per cent drop in the company's sales last month from year-earlier levels, which was actually better than the 38 per cent decline in the first 11 months of 2009.
