Got the new Mopar cold air intake installed
I got mine from Cool Intakes www.coolintakes.com for $379.99 and FREE Shipping! The Volant is the absolute best! It is fully enclosed and the air is kept cool in the hot engine environment by using an open cell technology box and tubing. Look at the smooth tubing, that's power waiting to be made! You don't have to worry about the hardware rusting, its all stainless.
You get a great power increase and impressive intake sound as well. It includes the PowerCore filter that doesn't require oiling, but is totally reusable! Its really the bee's knees, cool sick, bad,..............

My experience is the mileage was increased by close to 1mpg. Not too great, but the power increase was really noticeable. I haven't been on a dyno, but the advertised 11hp is possible.
I have to admit, I installed a Volant on my daughter's Pathfinder and the mpg's dropped, but the power gain was amazing.
I really think, though, that the way you drive is going to dictate any result. I the case of my daughter, she loved the way it sounded as well as the power increase, so her throttle probably changed her mpg's.
My original Volant was on a 2002 RAM with a 4.7L. It gained power and mpg's in the range of 1.5mpg. The power went up, but went down when I installed a 90mm throttle body. It is possible to overpower with air when the valve train and cam(s) are not equipped for the extra air.

I've had a few of the K&N CAI's over the years and each time, the rubber gasket seal at the top separated from the vinyly that attaches to the metal sides, leaving the seal unable to perform. I suspect the Mopar kit will have the same issue.
Is the mopar intake consider a performance accessory in the mopar book? The part number would begin with a P if it was. I only ask this because for all of you that bought a mopar part because of warrenty issues, well you can kiss that idea goodbye as dodge does not warrenty any performance mopar parts that start with a P#. Looked into this when I was looking at the mopar lift, and found out it was the same as putting on any other lift, as it will void your warrenty if they can prove it. So for those of you thinking the mopar intake is the way to go, really its not. Go with an aftermarket as it will be hundreds cheaper. I'm going to try and find where I read on the mopar performance site where it says they wont warrenty the performance accessories
Edit: Heres the link for all you guys thinking about the mopar parts. This is the warrenty info for mopar parts: http://dodgeparts.mopar.com/pdf/warranty.pdf
