BakFlip G2 - rails too short!
Picked up a BakFlip G2 today for my 5'-7" bed. Installation was a snap but when I went to close the final panel, the rails were about 5 1/2" too short so there was nothing for them to latch onto. Doh!
The wife and I are about to take the truck on its first big trip (1,600 miles to see the fam for Christmas) and I doubt this will be a show stopper, but I'd still like the thing to latch securely...
I've already sent an email to warranty@bakliner.com but I've read a lot about problems others have had with any support issues with this company. Has anyone had this problem, or know what sort of resistance I can expect from the company?
Happy Holidays!

You should be able to slide the rails back more. I believe the instructions said to slide the rails as far forward as possible, but I ran into the same problem as you. Just slide the rails back until you can latch it.
He said the rails are 5.5 inches too short. There is no way that sliding them is going to make it fit right. If you have the correct ones, there is maybe 1/2" of wiggle room front to back.
Thanks for the responses.
I could slide the rails back a maximum of about 1 inch since I'm limited by the slot on the mounting brackets.
Spoke to a guy at BAK. They were about to close for the weekend, so he was in a hurry and suggested that I contact the retailer I purchased it from to see if they had any rails I could exchange them for.
Spoke to the retailer (4 Wheel Parts, who have been really cool so far in first finding me the last BakFlip in CA that would fit my truck and getting me a great deal on it) who promised to contact BAK on Monday to try and persuade them to replace the rails.

Now that sounds like the level of customer service I've gotten from Bak.
To paraphrase:
Dude, I know you just spent like hundreds of bucks on one of our covers - but we've got your money so you can wait. Happy hour is only on for another hour so I've got to get going. While you're waiting, why don't you call our reseller who only sold you what we put in the box and see if we managed to ship them a second one that had the right parts in it.
Or maybe the wrong rails winding up in the box was an act of god. If that's the case then you're out of luck.
Good news: I'm getting new rails!
I was contacted this morning from Lauren at BAK Industries saying a pair of replacement rails was being shipped out to me today and an apology for the inconvenience. Might not get them in time for my trip, but I feel a lot better about the whole thing. I'll keep you posted.

Got the new rails today and they fit great!
Sure enough, now that the old rails are off, I can see from the barcode that they are designed for a Toyota pickup. I've emailed a thank you to Bak and asked them if they need the old ones back. If not, I'll probably offer them up on Craigslist or something.
