Default Bluetooth Issue

I've got the RER nav, dvd, 30 gig head unit. It's been working fine until the other day; the bluetooth pairing for my phone disconnects itself every few minutes. It pairs then after a few minutes then it disconnects. I've tried to delete the phone from the head unit and delete the Uconnect from the phone and re-pair each one, but they still keep disconnecting.

I don't know if it's my phone or the Uconnect in the head unit.

Anyone else have this issue?

The UConnect is a separate module mounted to the right of the glovebox.

Does the same for me. Annoying as hell. I don't even bother with it now.

The only issue I have had is occasional my phone will not connect. But once connected it never disconnects. I have the REN, which is the same thing minus the NAV.

On a side note the range on the BT for me is very good. I had my truck at the dealer not long ago. Sitting in the waiting room I was browsing the net with my Blackberry when I got the popup it had paired. I looked outside and across the parking lot was my truck being pulled into the service bays.

I have the standard radio. No NAV or any of that stuff. Just the UConnect. However, my phone is is POS as well which is why I never asked anything about the UConnect. Got the phone last March so I gotta wait a few more months before I can upgrade. If I still have problems at that time I'll check with the dealer.

Well, it seems to be an issue if mine isn't the only one doing this. Maybe the module needs to be updated/changed out.

My blue tooth is excellent. I have had my truck in the yard, with the music playing while I was cleaning it one day, walked inside to get a drink and the phone picked up from over 30 feet away. It always connects to my i phone with no problems right after I stick the key in.

I just wish the unit did Bluetooth stereo audio like the Ford Sync units have. That would be the ticket for streaming Pandora from my Blackberry. No wires!

I believe you are incorrect, sir. He said he has the RER, which has the UConnect module built in.

The REN and lower model radios have the UConnect module separate, mounted on the right side of the cab, right next to the lower glove box.

Me, TOO!!

I think all that is required is support for the Bluetooth A2DP profile. Hopefully, Dodge will add this in a software update. I'm not positive, but I think that can be done (i.e. without need a hardware upgrade).

I had a coworker driving my truck while I drove a company vehicle following him (he was not on the company insurance yet) ... I was able to call him from my blackberry while connected to the truck.

Talk about a confused guy. He heard the truck ringing, then his blackberry rings... he answers and hears himself.

He looked up in the mirror to see me laughing so hard I could barely drive.

- Now back on topic -

I occasionally have problems with mine not connecting, but once it does, it always stays connected.
