Thinking about undercoating my 09.
ok. from my experiences. GREASE is the best. yes they spray the frame, all sheetmetal surfaces. the place i go to drills one hole in each door sill to shoot the inside of the fenders that you cant get to any other way. then put a rubber gromet in there. no one can tell its not stock!
the oil treatments. aka zeibert in MI suck. they "dry up" or whatever leaving the vehicle with no protection over time. like i said. a good grease coating will last the life of the vehicle. personal experience with one that was 13yrs... before selling it.
oh, in MI a shop will grease coat the bottom, inside bumpers, halfway up inside doors, hood, fenders etc. on a "brand new " ram full size for $280.

Its like 100 a year for the truck, alot of places to do. I think the yearly check up and touch up is cheaper.
Well based on your usage and the fact that you live in texas, I sure wouldn't get a $500 job if it were me. Mine shows no signs of corrosion in nearly a year (Missouri). I think if I were in your shoes, and I just had to do it, the most elaborate would go with would just be the spray cans of undercoating from lowes, but more likely than that, I'd just wash the under carriage after the beach trips and inspect it periodically. If you start to get some trouble spots, either clean the area and spray it with the under coating cans, or just hit it with the cans of rustoleum rust converter that neutralize the rust and leave a primer coat behind (not the other brands of rust converter because they don't leave a primer coated surface behind)
Or you can spend the $500. I wouldn't though.

I wasn't thinking you are down south, man I am in salt city. Hell we have a salt mine here or used to. Not sure....well if you see Windsor Salt on the shelves on in the bags I guess we are in the salt mining business. We must be, my bro inlaw bought a truck from them, it was under ground for few years in the mine as soon as it hit the air outside of the mine it turned orange, everything rusted.
So if you can get an oil spray for 100 bucks then take a nice trip down a dusty road to keep it from dripping you will be set for a long time unless of course it rains a lot and you drive in the rain a lot. Good luck.
