Do you mean OEM heated seats? or the aftermarket kit that mopar sells?

For OEM your looking at over $1000 if installed by dealer.. There's a lot of harnesses that need to be changed, the module, heating elements are almost $100 a piece and you need 4 of them. These heated seat will turn on in the cold with remote start

The kit that mopar sells is much cheaper but doesn't use OEM switches. They add 2 switches on your dash to control it. The aftermarket kit will not turn on with remote start but otherwise will function like any other heated seat.

Anyone have the 2nd less expensive option? Any feedback? I miss having heated seats - I'm a wimp when it comes to winter.

My heated seats don't seem to turn on when I remote start my truck. I have gone through the EVIC and confirmed that the setting for Comfort Systems turn on when Remote Start (or however it's worded) is set to On.

Any idea why?

I do have the heated/cooled captain's chairs, and the heating and cooling both work fine if I press the appropriate buttons on the dash.

That is actually the kit that Mopar re-brands.

I have a Laramie with the bench seat so no cooled seat option for me either. My heated seats work just fine with remote start. The ambient outside temp has to be below a certain threshold in order for them to kick in. I think its below 32 but I'm not sure. Anyway, mine work fine, as does the heated steering wheel. It takes the seats a little while to warm up, so perhaps you're just not waiting long enough? It could also be the ambient air temp is not below the threshold. Anyway, if its neither of these two, you might want the dealer to check it out.

Well, maybe it's just because it hasn't been down to 32 yet. I AM in Florida. But, I use the heated seats and steering wheel if it's below about 50. :-)

Does anybody know what the exact temp is that will cause the heated seats to come on with the remote start?

Ok, I just went through this with the dealer.
My Comfort controls use to turn on with the remote start at about 52 deg.
I brought it in to the dealer for an oil change and to update to the current flash. They called and said the PCM had a 2WD flash in it and they had to change the PCM as mine is a 4WD Laramie. When I got it back the memory control in the seat wouldn't repeat and the comfort features wouldn't work with the remote start when it was cold ( about 47 deg.) Brought it back, they fixed the seat (bad connection) and reflashed the heater control, but the seat and steering wheel heater part of the comfort controls wouldn't activate automaticly when it was cold. When I would park it in the sun the cooling part of it worked.
The finally put in a request to engineering and the answer was that the cold temp threashold is 40 Deg.
I asked if that temp coud be adjusted up and was told it couldn't be adjusted.

Well in SO CAL that sucks. My butt is cold at 50 deg and it use to come on at that temp.
I guess the next time the dealer wants to flash anything I'll ask them to call me and explain exactly what all the flash entails.......if they know.
