Default 4x4 light just keeps blinking?

I am noticing when I put my 4WD in, in either 4hi or 4 low, the light just blinks, it does stop. The 4 wheel drive is engaging but keeps friggen blinking..This normal?

Have not noticed to be honest. Just picked up my 2010 Ram 1500 4x4 and only used 4x4 once so far...next time I use it I am going to have to see.

4x4 high should not blink for more than ten seconds unless you engaged it going faster than 45MPH. Then it will blink until you get down under that speed.

4x4 low will blink continously until you stop and put the tranny in neutral so the transfer case can change ratios.

If it never stops blinking it's either not making it into 4x4 or the sensor that detects the transfer case is in 4x4 is broken.

In either case it means a trip to the dealer. Should be cover under warranty.

I had this happen with mine... All i did was go through the set... I stopped my truck, put my transmission in neutral, and shifted to 4 low, waited about 3 minutes and the light came on solid... then went to 4 high, waited for light to go solid... then back to 2 hi and it went out... it's like it was confused...

That is so strange. This is exactly the procedure I did as well, and it seemed to knock it off. I think the truck had just never been engaged into 4WD, so it must have just needed to be reset. I put mine into 4low, and it went in solid no blinking, then i simply put it back into 4hi, and wahlaa, it stayed solid and hasnt blinked since. Glad it got figured out bc it was snowing pretty bad.

Do you have a service 4wd message? There is a wire harness that plugs into your front differential that activates the central axle disconnect - double check to make sure it is all of the way plugged in.

I am having the same issue, my SERVICE 4WD light blinks 3 times when I first start the truck but then goes away. My 4HI and 4LOW both just blink when I try to engage them. Tried in nuetral, tried going 4LO to 4HI tried at a low speed I basically tried everything, but still nothing. It feels like it is locking in and sounds that way but the light just blinks!
