Ram Premium Sound System - Alpine 9-speaker - question
....ok I'm a little confused now...see I saw an 09 at a dealership before I deployed to Iraq, wasn't paying too much attention to the audio other than noting the sub box in the passenger seat right behind the driver. Bought my quad cab 2010 laramie with the premium audio and nav, and noticed the speakers in the ceiling...but no sub box. Bass seemed to be lacking, so I looked, and no sub...did they jack me on the premium system and give me the base setup but with nav, or what?
So what we should do to improve sound quality? New door speakers, twitters, crossovers, amp and new sub? I just lease my truck for 3 years, and I don't want to put lot of $$ on this truck, but I want clear and good sound. Hate factory setup
do you both have the same radio system or do you have the alpine and she has the base?
Do you have the kappa or the reference? What did you do with the extra pair (for the center)?
I only recall there being one in the center. I did not change the ones in the roof however. Its a bit brighter. I did phase them all with an ohm meter. I also put an MB quart in the sub box. Required major surgery and unfortunately doesn't sound any better. The driver that was in there is actually pretty good.
An obvious question but cant you make it sound better with the EQ and balance and fader? Sometimes just a bit more to those rear full range makes it sound so much better. Your sub has a separate setting does it not? I heard one of these Alpine setups. I loved it.I spent a bit of time playing with the settings to get is to sound how i like it. I have the plaine jane speakers in mine and well when you put in a dvd it sounds so much better than the radio or sat or hdd. I have full range in the front and also the tweets in the dash work also.
