If you live in Central Texas...
I tried dealing with him over the net when I was looking for a SRT8 Jeep. He said he was the internet sales manager. I guess he thinks he is everything. I was pissed when I read this, because he was a smartass over the net when discussing my trade in. Needless to say I didn't buy from him. Sounds like he needs to have his A** whipped! What is it about a lot of car salesmen? They are trying to get every dollar out of you they can and when you have questions, they get all pissy. I have bought MANY vehicles over the years and have run across tons of these dirtbags.
Sorry you have to come home and deal with this kind of disrespect. You sir have my utmost RESPECT! Thank you for keeping my family safe. Merry Christmas.

And while I bought my '07 Ram from the Mac Haik in Georgetown, the service was **** poor in comparison when I went back for my '09. I ended up purchasing elsewhere and the service department has also gone downhill in Georgetown.
You should see me in service when they screw me around. A guy in a wheel chair screaming his *** off about poor service does not sit well with anyone including customers. They get nervous. You have to be sure you are absolutely correct and have all the facts first, which is easy to do because most of the service reps know nothing, some for some reason I have found are intelligent, makes me wonder why they are not a tech, I guess those guys work in **** poor situations getting **** for stuff they were never trained properly. I think all off the dealerships are lacking in training. The plants were like that when I worked there. I would say when we did internal ISO audits, training, including safety there was a big disconnect. It was discovered even by the third party auditor and things got fixed, the plant developed a great was of making sure people got trained and they had sign off sheets. It was getting better. I got crippled so I don't know what happened after that just that the plant closed a few years later , due to government regulations on crash testing. So they make an ugly van now in Mexico.... We have a great plant building the vans, great people can figure why build a new paint shop only to close a plant and disable it...Daimler did it. I think Chrysler sold the land now. I would say this even if I was not disabled , I actually miss working at that plant even when I was on the line I missed it. Was like a small family, small efficient little plant.
CA:
You are a credit to people in the service. Your letter to the GM was great. I think I would meet with the GM and see if they could composate you in any way for the jerk of a sales person they have. IMO at a minimum they should give you a lifetime extended warranty that covers what the Dodge lifetime does not.

Meant to post a "follow up" to this a while back, but forgot during the holidays. I too work at Hood, but live south in the Austin area. I purchased my '09 Ram from Mac Haik in Gtown, and I must say I wasn't highly impressed with the whole process. Don't get me wrong, the truck was exactly what I wanted and the price was certainly right, but the purchase process was not as impressive. This was my first Dodge product and I was a tad hesitant from the beginning. I have always been a Ford man, and have had great dealings with Mac Haik Ford in Gtown. One would think the dealership up the road would be on the same page, however, this is certainly not the case.
I have had to take my truck in for service once due to a water leak, which they did not fix and I have since had to fix myself. I am not happy with the service department, and will most likely take it to Maxwell in the future if needed.
If you haven't already, I urge you to report this to anyone who will listen here on Post. I HATE hearing about merchants treating soldiers poorly and do my best to spread the word effectively "black balling" them with the civilian sector too. Bottom line, if Dodge want's to stay in business and compete with Ford and the imports, they better wake up and start treating people better.
My wife and I recently purchased her a VW at Hewlett, and those folks have perfected "customer service and satisfaction" to the point it's irritating!

CaliAthlete, first let me say Thank you for your service to our great country. Second let me say I commend you on your professionalism and your ability to remain calm with a-holes such as this. However, you don't have to have been in combat to loose your temper with idiots. Awhile back I had to have some work done on a dakota I owned. The dealer I took the truck to had told me it would take about a week to fix. At the time I worked 3rd shift hours and slept during the day. I also worked 110 miles one way from my home so I was plenty tired when I would finally be able to get to sleep. To try to make a long story short, the svc mgr could never seem to give me an exact date or even be close with when the truck would be ready. On many occassions my wife would call because I was sleeping and this guy would talk down to her, tell her not to worry about, basically treated her like she was a 2yr old. They ended up having my truck for over 3 wks and this was back when dodge had the $100 deductable on the 3/36 warranty after the first 12mos. So after taking my $900 rent car back and going to pick up my truck I was just a little bit pissed when I saw they had replaced my batter which worked just fine and charged me another $100 bucks. I asked to see the GM, but I have to admit by this time I was no longer pretending to be nice. The guy lead me into a waiting room then disapeared. He came back a few minutes later and told me they were no charge on the battery. They brought my truck out and man I'm telling you at that point I lost it. The inside mirror had fallen off and was laying in the seat, the truck looked like it had been stored in a junk yard the whole time and I just couldn't take this SOB anylonger. I got in his face and called him every curse word I ever learned and even made some up as well as mixed them together! At this point several of the shop guys came out and stood behind him. I was to far gone for that, told him that the only thing keeping him alive was that I did not want to go to jail. I yelled it as loud as possible that I would kill him if I didn't have to go to jail! At that point my wife was able to get me to leave and by the time I reached home I had settled down. Decided that I would give the GM a call since I didn't get to see him and turns out that now he would not talk to me. I had blown my chance at a rational discussion with him. So, my hat's off to you and the road you have taken. Jeff
PS: my wife also made the comment that I'd better hope that guy didn't die anytime soon since there was about 100 witnesses that saw/heard me tell him I would kill him.

Wow....that is absolute garbage. I don't think I'd have gone quite as far as you did but I can understand why you did heh. Still no word back yet from either Dodge corporate, the GM of the dealership, or the sales manager I CC'd in the email...I'll be back in Texas on the 8th, hopefully I'll have heard something by then.
