If you live in Central Texas...
Do NOT go to Mac Haik in Temple, and if you do, avoid Mr. Robert Pippin. Horrible experience with this person, and if my formal complaint to Dodge Corporate + OMSC (Overseas Military Sales Corporation) doesn't get him fired, he should be. Delivery of my truck was approximately a month and a half late, and upon taking delivery, Mr. Pippin completely lost his **** so to speak and decided to cuss me out in the middle of his office. He's supposed to be their military sales rep, but he flat out lied to me over the phone, was very curt to the point of rudeness, and proceeded to yell at me and call me names all the way out of his office as I was walking away to find the GM. Among the things he said were - and I quote - "You're a f***cking disgrace to your country" "You ain't **** you little punk a$$ f***". At no point in dealing with him (completely over the phone up till the day I took delivery when he cussed me out) did I cuss at him, raise my voice, or anything else. I didn't even cuss or yell at him back when he launched into his tirade against me, only laughed and said "I can't believe I'm hearing this, I'm going to go talk to your manager." Only once, on the day before I took delivery, did I even ask to speak to his manager, since he couldn't give me a solid delivery date and I asked for the transport company's phone number. That's when he flat out lied to me and said "I AM the manager." I asked to speak to the General Manager in response, and he then said "I AM the General Manager." I eventually got the number from him, but he hung up on me after giving it to me.
I'll be emailing the REAL General Manager of that dealership next, but Dodge and OMSC have already been informed by me of his conduct and my recommendation for his removal, along with recommending OMSC to take their business to another dealership. Mr. Pippin is lucky I'm a relatively calm person to begin with, because since he's their MILITARY rep, I can't imagine what would happen if he flipped out on someone just returned from Iraq - as I was - who had a bad case of PTSD and might flip out right back on him.

"who had a bad case of PTSD and might flip out right back on him" that would be me by the way, it seems like everytime I hear about some jerka$$ car salesman flipping out on someone, its on someone that has a calm demeanor.Props to you man, if it was me, I probably would be in front of my 1SGT explaining why I lost my discipline over an object. Not that I would ever hit anyone for something like that, I guess yelling back at someone is embarassing to the military as it is............................................Kevi n.
I tried dealing with him over the net when I was looking for a SRT8 Jeep. He said he was the internet sales manager. I guess he thinks he is everything. I was pissed when I read this, because he was a smartass over the net when discussing my trade in. Needless to say I didn't buy from him. Sounds like he needs to have his A** whipped! What is it about a lot of car salesmen? They are trying to get every dollar out of you they can and when you have questions, they get all pissy. I have bought MANY vehicles over the years and have run across tons of these dirtbags.
Sorry you have to come home and deal with this kind of disrespect. You sir have my utmost RESPECT! Thank you for keeping my family safe. Merry Christmas.

What a D. bag....
good luck getting any resolve from Dodge or the Dealership, customer service is dead in the car business. You're better off complaining to the the sales rep at OSMS.

Thank you for your service to our country. I agree this sales person needs to be fired. Just curious, what was said just prior to him going bonkers? What has the real GM said, done for you. I personally would have found a way to cancel the sales and went elsewhere.

go and talk to the JAG and see about getting them on the blacklist and being put off limits, one person won't do the trick but who knows how many others made a complaint, that and the BBB

Mike2810 - My day went like this. After the conversation the night before getting the transport company's assurance that my truck would be there around 1030/1100 am, I finally got a call from Mr. Pippin @ ~ 130pm. He said "Your truck has arrived, it's here, give us about an hour, hour and a half to wash it, gas it up, and get it road ready for you so when you get here we can get you on the road quickly." Sounded relatively polite at that point, I said "ok cool sounds good man, see you in a couple hours." When I showed up at the dealership, my friend Nick drove me around the lot and we parked next to my truck, verified the VIN number...and it hadn't been touched yet, still had stickers all over it, hadn't been washed, etc. Went inside and asked the secretary where Mr. Pippin was. She called his desk phone, and I heard her say "Mr. Pippin, I have 2 customers here to see you...uh huh...ok I'll send them back." "Sir, just go right over there to that next building over he's in his office right there." I thanked her, and walked over. Halfway there, we saw Mr. Pippin (though we didn't know it was him at the time) come out of his office, jump into a truck and literally haul a$$ to the far side of the dealer lot. Walked into his office and asked the only other person in there "Are you Mr. Pippin?" the employee said "No, he just left, said he had to go run some errands real quick and would be right back." I had Mr. Pippin's cell # from a couple of his previous calls, so I called him on it and said "Hey man it's Pete, I'm standing in your office and was just informed that was you that drove off past me, want me to meet you up at the main office? Looked like you were headed that way." He replied "No, go back to my office I'll be there in a sec just meet me there." Nick walked back to his car at this point, and as I went back into the office I called him. Mr. Pippin returned, walked in, asked me "Are you Pete?" I said yes and the next words out of his mouth were "Hang up that phone" in an angry tone of voice. I told Nick I'd call him back in a sec, hung up, turned to face Mr. Pippin and he went off. Didn't even let me say a word, just launched right into me. Our conversation went like this, RP is Robert Pippin, PS is me.
RP : What pay grade are you?!
PS : I'm an E5, Sergeant.
RP : Well you know what you ain't ****. We're doing you a f***ing courtesy and you've been acting like an ***hole this whole damn time. You're a f***ing disgrace to your country and your rank you piece of ****. Blah blah blah (started tuning him out and laughing at this point) is something I'm saying f***ing funny?
PS : Yeah, I can't believe I'm hearing this right now, I'm going to go talk to your GM.
RP : Aw go ahead you little punk a$$ f***. Get the **** out of here I'm tired of dealing with you you ain't nothing but a punk a$$ b****. (continued yelling at me till the door shut behind me as I walked back up to the main office).
At one point during his tirade I did interject with "I ain't sh**? I'm a paying customer" which just set him off even more, but that was the gist of it, and I'm 100% positive I quoted the cussing correctly I have a pretty good memory.
Last time I came back from Iraq I had to be VERY careful when dealing with people that had a chip on their shoulder. People don't understand how it is out of this country where the littlest things can send you 0 to 60 in a fraction of a second because thats what keeps you alert and alive. People don't understand that you get used to that over a year's time and it takes time for us to adjust. Sounds stupid but I found the best way to adjust sometimes was to altogether avoid large groups of people and anyone who was excessively loud or aggressive. It was my wife I had to keep under control when the Starbucks chick looked at my uniform in disgust my first day back on my way to inprocess, and gave her opinion on who she thought she was. I thought she would be arrested with the amount of commotion and destruction she caused. Instead I think they just closed the Starbucks in the airport for the day. Tell EVERYONE you know about your experience and have your Shirt follow up on the incident. A good Shirt will raise Holy Hell and get you what you want.
My email to the GM of that dealership, Duane Harris, CC'd to the sales manager, Paul Bolin.

Mr. Harris,
First of all let me say I apologize for any interruption to your vacation, I'm told by your dealership you're gone for a bit, but I've let this email wait long enough. I didn't want to spoil Christmas for you, but Mr. Pippen, in my opinion, does not need to be employed by your dealership any longer. During the course of our interactions over the phone, he was curt to the point of rudeness, dishonest, and apparently a bit lazy as well. Among other things he cut calls short by hanging up on me, claimed he was the General Manager when I asked to speak to his manager, and did not return calls anywhere near when he said he would. For example, at one point I asked if he had received my finance paperwork from Service Credit Union, he replied he was out of the office and would be back in about 20 minutes and would check his mail first thing and then call me back. 4 hours later, I still had not received a call, so I called back, spoke with Mr. Tom Jarmon, and he went and got my paperwork for me. Still, this is not the primary reason for this email, merely the calm before the storm.
When Mr. Pippen finally called me to say my truck had arrived at your dealership (about a month late, by the way) he stated "Your truck is here, give us about an hour to an hour and a half to wash it, clean it up, get all the stickers off, get it road ready for you so you can be out and on your way when you come pick it up." I thanked him, and about 2 hours later when I showed up, my truck still had not been touched. I walked into the main sales office and spoke to a secretary in there and asked for Mr. Pippen, she called his desk phone and informed him there were 2 customers (my friend was with me) to see him, then told us "He's in his office, please go on back it's in that next building over down there." As we walked down towards his office, Mr. Pippen (though I didn't know it was him at the time) came out, jumped into a white crew cab with the window sticker still on it, and literally hauled *** to the opposite side of your main building. I'd estimate at least 30 mph in your lot. I walked into his office and there was only one other person in there, Alex Castillo. I asked if he was Mr. Pippen (not knowing who was who at the time), he replied "No, Mr. Pippen just stepped out, he said he had to go run some errands real quick and would be right back." I asked if that had been Mr. Pippen in the yellow shirt jumping into that truck that just left, and he said yes it was. I called Mr. Pippen's cell phone, asked if he would like me to meet him in the main building as it looked like he'd been heading that way, and he said no, go back to my office and stay there I'll meet you there.
This led to my first face to face meeting with Mr. Pippen, which included him:
- telling me to hang up my phone, in a rude and angry voice, as soon as he walked in as opposed to waiting a moment till I was finished with my phone call.
- insulting me by calling me derogatory terms such as "you punk *** ****" "a disgrace to your country" "*******" "piece of ****"
- continuing to berate and yell obscenities at me as I walked out
This whole incident was witnessed by Mr. Castillo. At no point prior to this did I provoke him or instigate this in any way.
I have so far filed a formal complaint with Dodge, Overseas Military Sales Corporation, and now you. Mr. Pippen is lucky I'm a man with a relatively calm demeanor, I can't imagine what might have happened if he had flipped out on a returning servicemember with a severe case of PTSD or something. Bad enough calling me a disgrace to my country after I just got back from my 2nd tour, now imagine I'd been someone a little more on edge. I would say he's both a danger and a disgrace to your dealership, and to customer service personnel in general. Nobody should ever have to put up with an outburst like that from a salesperson.
On a more positive note, your sales manager Mr. Paul Bolin along with Mr. Tom Jarmon were very helpful in finally getting me delivery of my truck, Mr. Jarmon had helped me a couple times previously when I couldn't get ahold of Mr. Pippen, and I would like to say he was the picture of customer service and what I would expect when buying a vehicle. Knowledgeable, agreeable, a "can-do" attitude, I would recommend him for a promotion or at least a pay raise.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,

Let's see how long it takes to get a response...if I don't get at least an acknowledgement of receipt of this email, I'm printing it out and dropping off a hard copy in person. BBB and Ft. Hood blacklist is next if this doesn't get handled...
