I'm still ticked about this... but I've made up my mind.

I stopped in Clanton on my trip through on New Year's Eve. Asked if they could turn it on for me. Even told them I was not sastified with my current service provider and that I was looking for someone to replace them with. They said that it would take "at least a few hours". I showed him the paperwork from the instruction CD and asked which steps could take so long (very politely, not rude at all). He couldn't answer. He spoke to one of his technicians to verify, and that guy told him they would need it at least 3 hours.

How do these places stay in business? I saw all the techs sitting on their butts in a completely empty shop when I drove up! You'd think they would want the money.

Oh well -

I've decided it it time for a LockPic or AllGig. Now I just have to decide which one.

rolltidehemi - thanks for teh heads up. I will take a look at the wires and be sure they match up across the connectors. Did you have several extra feet of wire when you got to the front? I have about 5 feet or so rolled up and zip tied to the firewall.

Twotone - Power lock is on the list. I am doing the AllGig/Lockpic first. Getting the fronts tinted next, then the locking gate.

Yeah there was extra initially at the firewall, but I sent it to the tailgate and made the loops there, don't cut it. check the wires make sure the wire for power is getting power at the cam, and the negative is okay also, if not find where it is switched, I would likely say this is the issue, if you software is loaded into the system and it responds on the screen of Nav when placed into reverse but displays nothing but blue, talked to some tech guys and they told me the cams are verrrrry rarely the issue if at all. Also make sure in the settings of the radio it is turned on.

Also it shouldn't matter on the time, it costs the same, if they charge you, some places may take longer for the software to download from chrysler mainframe system. Initially the dealer could not log onto the system to do mine when I had it in for balance and rotate, went back for RRTs and they took 5 hours on top of the 3 for the RRTs, but that was b/c they couldn't diagnose there a$$ from C@#K.

If you have had the function turned on on the Nav system or REN make sure the cam is gettin power at the connection to the cam if it isn't then you have the same problem I had.
So the cam gets constant 12 v? So It could be hooked up to the power on the trailer hitch or what is the best place?

yes the cam needs 12 volt to turn on, with that said it is unknown if you can provide your own switch with 12 volt to turn on at anytime to view on screen, I would imagine no, due to the mygig software, thats why you need lockpick or allgig to do this and from what I have found is that you will need to install differently if you use the allgig or lockpick.

It wouldn't hurt trying to hook a jump of 12 volt and see if the mygig allows it to come up due to a signal coming from the cam.

When I had the install problem you would put in reverse and the screen would switch to blue screen witht the words check all surroundings, which leads me to believe that the mygig controls the system view options due to where the reverse switch is located that tells the radio the vehicle is backing up. You would need schematics, I wish someone would put out the service manual on CD for sale, like the one I have for my 02 and 04 trucks.
