Mud Guards/Flaps
I agree I think paint will have a tough time staying on the Mopar ones anyway, not sure about others. Here is a couple of pics of unpainted Mopar flaps I just installed on my Ram.

I have the Husky's and wanted to paint them too. I was advised by my son (Body Shop rep for a major insurance company) and a local body shop not to do it. The opinion was that no matter how flexible, they would eventually look like crap. I have grown used to the black on my white truck. I can post pics if you want.
IMHO......The only chance you have is to use Bulldog Adhesion Promoter which is made by Kleen Strip. (Part# ETPO123B). Then paint over it with whatever brand automotive paint you like. I have painted many plastic parts on my bike, snowmobile & tractor and they all are holding up great!
I used to sell the Bulldog and my demo piece was a Shower Curtain I painted w/base-clear PPG. You could wad it up into a ball and it wouldn't chip or flake off!

Just a suggestion, when you install these, put some clear film on the truck behind the flaps so that they don't rub on the paint. The Husky's come with the film. I bought some at an auto body supply for my Mopar flaps and cut it so that it extends about 1/8" around the flap where it contacts the body.
I bought some "cheap" basic flat mud flaps at a local retailer, although it does have a red ram head on them. On the fronts I utilized one of the un-used holes with a nylon bolt/nut. Then drilled a hole in the wheel well liner and used one of those interior push in holder things.
For the back I just utilized the to lower wheel well liner screws.
I only plan to run them Dec-Apr which is why I went this route.

I can use that info for painting my plastic bumper.
