Default Climate control FAIL!!!!!

Get this. The other day, started my truck and a loud sound starting clicking behind the center dash. It sounded like one of the small duct doors in the air conditioner/heat system opening and slamming shut, over and over and over for about 2 minutes. It then stops but the fan will not kick on for approximately 6 minutes after the 2 minutes of the duct door opening and slamming shut.

There is a recall for our trucks for climate control failure. Don't know if it covers your specific condition.

Check here for addition info on recalls, etc https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...-and-rrts.html

I checkd the recalls for my truck but there are none listed. Don't know if this is a mechanical problem or a programming problem. One thing after another:

Backup module FAIL...replaced
Passenger seat bracket FAIL....replaced
Temperatrure sensor FAIL....replaced
Leaking antifreeze resevoir FAIL....replaced
Bad tire mounting on rear passenger FAIL....nothing done by dealer, I replaced all tires

I like this truck but jees......

here's a wild idea. Any chance your truck has been parked for several days and has become home to a mouse or other critter? It happened to my wife's Neon last year. Momma built a nest and had babies. The nest jammed up the blower motor.

Had mine in for the same thing about 3 months ago, it's a failed actuator on one of the HVAC doors. Mine was after 8 months and 6000 miles, covered under warranty. Hope it doesn't fail again after the warranty runs out, as it won't be cheap to replace !!

Lovely! Made an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow.

If it fails again, I am bying a 120 volt window AC unit and mounting it to my rear sliding window.

What day was your truck built? Maybe it's true don't buy one built on the weekend or monday? I worked those days only difference was on Friday after lunch half the plant was drunk or baked LOL. But they were all paranoid so they did their job and did it good as to not bring attention to themselves. Saturdays and Mondays a lot of students who did not get proper training usually, an absentee man would want to disappear so the first time he saw the student do the job once by himself he was outta there, then the student would mess up and well not tell anyone for fear of his job. So kind hard, but on afternoons, pretty much half the plant was baked no matter what day, so came in that way especially in the summer, and maintained their buzz every hour break, by the way that was everyday on afternoons. Not sure if the ******** are suckin back tequila after the siesta come the fiesta? Not sure what the boys at the Warren truck assembly plant do on their own time but when I went there to check out their ISO program they seemed to have it down good there. Seemed like they really cared about quality but when parts built by other companies fail, its technically is not Dodges fault but if they start getting too many problem I would hope they would find a different vendor!
Good luck I hope your woes end for you soon and you can enjoy your truck.

Your post is a perfect example of why industry is moving out of the country and I have seen what you described first hand.

All of the problems I have had are problems with design and will affect a good portion of the trucks on the road but the truck was built just fine and I am pleased with it.

Took it to the dealer this morning, dropped it off, two hours later they called to tell me the actuator had a short and they did not have the part nor did any other dealers in the area. Monday will be round two.

That was then when you worked there this is now things have changed. They don't have much time at lunch and breaks to do anything but maybe have a cigarette and a bite to eat,now you have to punch in and out at lunch so there's no extended breaks.
