Default Tire Upgrades

At 17,000 miles my Goodyears are about shot. What tires have you guys been upgrading to? I'm looking at the Cooper Discover H/T Plus tires, from what I've read on them they seem like a decent tire. If I was planning on keeping this truck I'd put on a set of 22" SRT 10 rims and tires. But with this lemon law deal going I don't want to put any more money into this truck than I have to.

I upgraded to Nitto NT420S, couldn't be happier, they're on SRT 22" rims. The Goodyears were on my truck for the test drive only.

I have 22K on my truck and the Goodyears still look new. I usually get about 60-65K on the OEM tires, these should be no different. When I do put tires on my trucks, I go with Michelin LTX-M/S. I get about 80K miles out of them and with great traction. Usually a long run tire has too hard of a compound, but the LTXs are wonderful tires.

I might be able to squeeze 20,000 out of them. I've never had tires wear out so quickly. I can usually pull about 30K to 40K on a set of tires on my trucks, but this is ridiculous.

I wish the fenders were a little wider so you could put on a wider tire and have it "tucked in" and not sticking past the fenders.

I'd go with General Grabber AT2s. Great all around On-Road-Off-Road All Terrain tire, mud and snow ("snowflake") rated, long treadwear rating, and reasonably priced. Plus they look great. What's not to like??

I've got a set on my 2002 Ram 1500 Std Cab Long Bed. When I get a new truck, will replace the stock tires with them immediately.

I'm just going to replace the tires and reuse the stock (plastic) wheels. I just want to get a decent tire that's not noisy, looks good, sticks to the road, and won't wear out in under 20,000 miles.

Hopefully Dodge will come around soon and take this heap back (lemon law), then I won't have to take any more abuse from my wife for buying a Dodge.
