Hello everyone. I am thinking of installing the Magnaflow cat-back side exit kit (part #16868) but I want to know how much it will affect the ground clearance of the truck. I can't find any pictures of this kit installed.

Has anyone here put this system on their truck?

I'm driving a 2009 1500 Quad SLT 4x4.

Any opinions on this kit? Should I just go with rear exit. I just don't want to change the bumper.

 

do you like loud? Ive had side exits before and it is much louder in the cab, the sound seems to resonate and bounce off anything you drive next to making it very noisy. I prefer out the rear.

 

I don't mind loud but that was a concern of mine as well. Most of my driving is rural so it wouldn't be that much of a problem.

I know the tips are 4 inches. What kind of clearance to the box side can I expect? half inch?

 

Now I am thinking I'll just go with the 16870 rear exit.

 

Doesn't the SLT come with rear duals? I thought it was only the ST and the none HEMI's that had single behind the right wheel? Answered my owner question right from the website

I had to put the tailgate lock on too... and no MDS light.

 

no SLT's alone did not get the bumpers with the cutouts, Big Horns, Lone Stars, Larieme (misspelled) and Sports do, reg ST and SLT do not.

 

Come to think of it, my hitch was an extra too. Could that be the 2010 SLT list?

Anyway... I placed the order. Should get it and have it installed tomorrow. Pics to follow!
