2010 Ram 1500 4X4 Lift Help!
Hello everyone,
I have a 2010 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport 4X4 on the way from the factory and need help/guidance/advice on which lift I should put on it. I want to run 37X12.50R20 on the truck when it is all said and done. The dealer said that on Saturday (January 30, 2010) Mopar came out with a 3 inch suspension lift "that looks like a 4 inch lift" (whatever that means) that will allow for 37X12.5R20 tires. I want to use my factory sport wheels for the lift but I am concerned about backspace issues. Does anyone know if this lift will allow for those size tires on my factory 20 inch wheels without clearance and rubbing problems? Also, I was told if I get the mopar lift and have it installed by the dealer (and pay their rediculous premium) that my warranty will remain valid. I talked to a guy at Trick Trucks and he told me he would recommend a 6-inch lift for those size tires. My concern is if I buy my truck at the dealer then take it over to Trick Trucks I could one day have warranty issues say if my transmission ever had issues, (they could blame it on the oversize tires). Anyone have any experience with this or have any advice as to what to do? I can't find the lift for the 2010 anywhere online. The dealer said they would put the lift on but I would have to go do the tires on my own, (kind of shady and didn't make much sense to me). Also, any idea on what this kit will cost to be installed? I've been told that the 2009 kit is basically the same thing as the 2010 kit so any experience with the 2009 would likely apply to my situation.

With the kit that Mopar is offering would I be able to achieve this same look?

theres someone on here thats running 37/1250s on stock laramie wheels with the 4inch mopar lift(superlift). im sure he has to run a 1/4inch wheel spacer in the front the. but i would not put 37s on a 4" lift bc it will probably rub so go 6" if u want the 37s
If you read the article.... it works..... but barely...
So, the 4 inch lift, almost sounds like spacers, a little trimming and you are good to go ...... mostly.
The lift kit on this particular Ram 1500 requires a minimum of 18-inch wheels. The 37-by-12.5-inch tire size seemed about the maximum the suspension would support, and maybe a little more in terms of width. The setup allowed the tires to extend about an inch outboard of the wheel wells. That’s not a glaring problem, and it can easily be remedied by choosing a narrower tire or by adding fender flares. We noticed that the front fenders had been slightly trimmed for extra turning clearance, at the rear of the wheel well, but we had to look closely to see it. Beyond that, we didn’t see a lot of evidence that the tire had contacted the wheel well during use, which was surprising considering how heavily the suspension had been cycled during our dune running.
I have 35's on the stock wheels, 1/4" wheel spacers up front with the 4" superlift. There might be enough room for 37's but may need to trim inner fenders. Also, you won't clear the knuckle if you go with an aggressive sidewall tire like a nitto mud terrain, I have about an 1/8th of an inch clearance with the A/T's. I wouldn't consider a 3" lift with 37's.
The mopar brochure states that 37" is the max that will fit the 4" lift.
Best bet is to get the 4" lift from mopar and put your 37" on it. They can't cancel your warranty for that.
