Default shift point lag

i have a 02 ram and a 09 ram and the transmission between the 2 are totally different i like the 02 better. the 09 feels like i need to have it to the floor in order to get it to shift faster. with it being under warrenty is it covered to have the dealer change it to make it more snappy?
