Default Looking for Side Bars

I am looking to put some side bars on my 09 Laramie. So many to choose from. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Default Looks or Function?

Bed rails or side step?

If the latter, I guess the first question is are you looking for looks or function? Some prefer the “clean” look of no steps at all and the added ground clearance, others feel the step helps it make the side more substantial and lowers it a bit, and protect from shopping carts; one or two-tone paint may also play a factor. Personally, I don’t think I’d add steps to your truck (for looks), it looks good the way it is.

After pining over this for weeks and shopping the biggest market available – the open road. I came to the conclusion that all steps look like an after-thought on the truck and the trucks looked just fine without.
So I went with the Amp-Research Power Step, this provides “function” without impacting “looks”. http://amp-research.com/products/tru.../powerstep.asp

I like the look of the bars. I agree with you and would be more than happy without them but my wife is only 5' tall and has trouble getting in and out of the truck.
I really like the Power Step! I would imagine it would be quite costly for those. How much did they cost?

Depending on where you get them you'll probably spend around $1,100. If you shop with Bing you can get 12% cash back from AutoAnything.com.

I was the same way, had steps on my 04 and liked them, didn't want them on my 09 but after a year, bought the wheel to wheel so my kids can get in and out, they have grown on me, I like the clean look to, but I really like the wheel to wheel, Hendricks performance out of texas was quoting a price of 570 shipped, was able to negotiate with University dodge in Davie florida at 580 out the door, got the same day. I'll get a pic on here later so you can see them.

I went to TruckChamp.com and bought their house brand bars. Black powdercoated, 5 year rust warranty, delivered to my door for $167. Can't be beat imho.

I was just at the Truck Outfitters here in my town and saw a really nice set of Boss side bars . They are 4" in diameter. I am just wondering if they will look too big for my truck. I am going to go back as they said they would show me what it would look like on my truck. They are regular $795 retail and they had them on sale for $500. The price is right. Does anyone know of the Boss name?
