Default Looking to buy a Ram 2500

I'm going to getting a new truck in March.I found one TRX4 out of many Big Horn Regional Packages. the TRX has what I want in a truck but I would like some thoughts. The TRX has 4.10 Axle Ratio with a 5.7L HEMI VVT. Do you think the 4.10 is a little too much? is it going to eat up a lot of gas? The only time I'm driving my truck is when the snow flies or when I need to tow a car or boat. Any thoughts. Thanks

Default towing gear

from what i have read/learned 4.10 is a good towing gear and if that is what you are going to use the truck from that is the way to go.

i didnt know anything about trucks or towing and bought mine with a 3.55 and after reading enough i now think I made a crucial error though if I never read anything I would have never known or cared becasue even with the 3.55 my trucks pulls a 5k travel trailer without an issue.

i guess I really just dont know

Well for what you are using your truck I would say that is the one you would be happy with and wont be one of those guys whining about the towing capabilities for once.

Thanks for the insights. diesel is out of my price range & I drove a diesel truck at work & had a headache from it until they got me another truck that was not a diesel. If it was not for that I would look for a used one in my price range.

If they were to provide the diesel in the half ton I would have gotten it. These days they don't really even sound that bad. My friend has had 3 powerstroke diesels replaced on his 3/4 ton Harley Ford 08 model. One year 3 motors..........
