Good on you! It's nice to know that even brown shoes can make good decisions with enough guidance...

Stay safe over there and give me a shout when you get back.

vodapas, first let me say Thank You for your service. I have an 09 CC sport. In addition to the hemi and the 3.92's go for the towing package as well. This truck tows fine as long as your not trying to over load it. I used to have a 16' car hauler that I carried 4 four wheelers on and it towed it just fine. The trailer got stolen with the toys on it so now I'm only towing a 10' trailer with a 1200lb yamaha rhino on it. Not sure I even need to put it in tow/haul mode for this but I do and it tows it great. I would also recomend the back up camera. On those occasions hooking up the trailer alone, man that camera really helps. I believe you will love the truck. I've driven dodge trucks since I was 17 yrs old, 50 now, and I am not kidding when I say my 09 is the best of the 8 dodge trucks I've owned. I may be a little biased though since the only other trucks I've owned were a 66 chevy, and a 78 GMC. I loved all my trucks and that's why you can believe me when I say this one is the best yet. Technology is great and plays a big part in that. But I think I will still be saying this in 5,10, ?? years down the road. We will see, but I really am glad I stepped up and got the new dodge. Jeff.

Attono - No sir, I am no brown shoe. Surface Warrior (IT) and proud. Just happens that they need my knowledge in the back of a C-130. My roommate is a brown shoe and I have yet to see him make a good decision. LOL.

jram - First, you are more than welcome. I am proud to serve. Thank you for your advice. I'm sure the Dodge is just as capable of towing as the others. I've noticed that in a lot of the articles I've read they've always had a Laramie with all the bells and whistles, but not really set up to "work".

i am one of those who bought one not really knowing much about trucks or what I needed. I saw and drove this truck and bought it based on that. I also got a smoking deal on an 09. I own a Laramie with all options beside the 3.92 and rambox. before I started reading this site I bought the truck and felt it was freaking amazing. This site does offer a lot of info but it also made me find some negativity toward the vehicle.....i bought the truck as a 3rd vehicle to tow a travel trailer and use when needed for access to the mountains, not 4 wheeling but snowboarding and roads to bike trails. anyhow with the trailer behind me on long grades yeah I know its there but either gear would do that, normal driving on the highway and you can pull 5-6k a lot faster than you should for safety..and that is with the kids and gear in the vehicle, very capable.

anyhow i started to respond in regard to the comparison of the ford and dodge. the ford is 2wd with an upgraded lsd which is kind of not apples to apples, anyhow this truck is amazing. I now own a vehicle with a bumper to bumper lifetime warranty (not sure if that is available on the 2010 but I got mine for 1500 bucks), pretty amazing to me. also when not pulling the trucks feels like a sports car, that is where nothing compares to it!!
