When I ordered mine I got $500 below dealer invoice price, because my company has an affiliate program with Chrysler. But even then, some say dealer invoice prices doesn't mean anything either, ok, so then I ask: "so then ask what IS the frame of reference?".

Good point...

For instance...I emailed around and the best quote I got was 33,247 for a Sport Quad Cab with a truck load (pun) of options that I want that MSRPs for 40,360 (destination included) on a factory order.

So, is $7,113 under MSRP a good deal on a factory order?

I liked this dealer because they didn't eff around with me. They just sent me a quote and the salesman was very straight forward through a couple emails. Other dealers dind't give me a quote over email and asked me to come into the showroom to talk and ignored my numerous requets for a quote. A couple of them even sent me a quote for an ST trim they had on hand becuase that is all they had.

a couple other dealers did though send me a quote for one I wanted factory order that was about $1500 more then my lowest of 33,247.

I'm looking forward as well to 3/1/10 because the current incentive runs out which is $2500. Maybe there will be a better one coming.

So, how much did everyone get under MSRP?

I also got an upgraded seat package and remote start that were not in the build I wanted so it was hard to complain. Do shop around but keep in mind if the hassle of warranty work is worth it to have to drive to your dealership, if you could have paid 500 more and got it right next door?
You can buy it wherever you want and have it serviced at any dealership. Now they say the place you bought it will give you better service but you get better deals at the small out of town hick places because they don't have as many employees, usually 2 saleman an aluminum square building and one bay basically equipped to do oil changes and with the same lift most of us have in our garages. The dealership that I get my service done it happy to work on my vehicles. They call and remind when oil changes are due, man they are so pushy with tire rotation. I don't care for the tires Igot with my ram had them before, but this time no vibration or pulling etc. so I am keeping an eye on the wear pattern instead of just automatically rotating. I don't want to cause any issues that I don't have now or Iam choosing to leave well enough alone. You can see the brakes through the wheels so no need to take them off for that. I told them to take that off the list I will tell them when or if I want them rotated and explained why she put that on my file and now they don't bug me. Like I said before its a year old next month have had 4 oil changes and it has only 9000 km's now. If I followed their recommendations I would be just getting my second oil change next month. I am sorta old school but reading up on this and I am not sure why the thinner oil winter and summer and longer spans between...I can't wrap my head around that.

Sounds like a good deal to me, I was about 7500 under msrp, but they also gave me 1500 more then any other dealer around for my trade so you have to take that into account if you are trading. I didnt finance so I didnt get the extra 1000.00 financing bonus, so I do believe people when they say they got 10K off sticker.

In the end the best 'deal' is if you are happy with the truck, even if you dont get the super-awesome price. I found on the internet no matter what car you buy someone always paid less. I probably could have haggled another 500-1000.00 or so but this dealer has been pretty good to me over the years compared to the other Dodge dealers around.

As far as the rebates if the trucks are selling well they may go away for the spring/summer season. Thats always a roll of the dice..

Almost 8000 grand on a factory order is pretty good since there are hardly any trucks on lots, mostly just cheapies.
I got mine like that in fact the owner was on vacation in Aruba or something, he didn't even see my lease return, 11 months early, he took it over I could not believe that he didn't even have anyone to take it over so he would have to make the payments. I worked for him it got picked up right away, it was in better shape than new.
33247 would be a good price in the US for a Sport Crew since my Sport CC was just under 29000 C sticker was 44500. I got employee plus used a 2600 credit I had. All I know is I love it and well I get sick of vehicles quick, this one is not making me sick, If I have to find something to complain about is the poor connection between the keyfob and the truck. I wonder if it has anything to do with the lady next door has remote start(GM) wondering if some type of interference...so much floating thru the aid these days, internet, cell phones, so many things to cause interference? But I believe the FOB's are just crap, I have a few old ones the boards inside are 3 times thicker and no flex at all, the board in the one we have is like paper. I think they are gonna have to beef them up, there is a spot that could take piece of styrofoam or dense rubber , foam that might help support the board when pushing the buttons. I bet the is a TSB for it if customer complains about keyfob, reprogram them and if they come back a second time give them from another customer that we swapped them with LOL. At least the throttle doesn't stick and the brakes work, frame doesn't seem to be rotting out yet LOL. For the few serious problems that I have read about in these forums, they are really neglible, more petty stuff like the key fobs or squeaky seats, don't we all have some wd40 in our cupboard. My wife has one of her own she uses it to remove the glue after a sticker gets removed and leaves its feces behind. I have like 4 open cans of the stuff in my garage, I want one in my reach all the time or I have one with a weird name, works as good but doesnt smell so much. Spray loo or something like that.??

Make sure you get the stuff they like to try to sell you thrown in for free. I always gets undercoating and paint sealant and the interior stuff....guarantees for life. Just have to go in once in 5 years or something. That costs them next to nothing to do. Also tinted windows to match the rear ones, should be free. Cheap plastic bedliner and bug deflector I always get free cuz for some reason they are on the truck whenI go pick it up and the extra chargesare there and well I say I dont want them, never asked for them. Then say well they are on we cant take them off. I say order me a new truck then. They just get huffy and go get new paper work without them on but the leave them on the truck. This time I was up front and said i don't want that because I am going with oil spray, I have seen some cares like 15 years old with no rust at all, oil sprayed once a year for 80 bucks..good deal. Even when I got the paint sealant i still waxed but I have a friend that works in a dealership who did the sealant and even washes it for us once in a while when not busy. I didn't get the paperwork with the sealant but it's just that is one big mother of a truck to wash let alone wax. Those plastic bed liners where the paint down in the truck, they do their jub but take it out in a year and there will be bald spots all over they don't rust as long as you drive the truck with the bed liner in keeps the spots sanded down...I went with the bedrug. Very nice, doesn't where down the paint and is so comfortable you could sleep on it.

They told me that if while my truck is being built/delivered to the dealer, that if the incentive changed I would get the better of the two...so I got that going for me...which is nice.

Anyone have a history of 2009 incentives during the year? I remember there were some really good ones in the summer ending the day after labor day. I live near Philadelphia if that helps.

I would be REALLY pissed if they had no incentives at all in March/April when I place my order. Actually, I wouldn't if there were no incentives.

I know last year could have been an aberation since Chrysler was going through some tough times.

I came in a $6500 under MSRP out the door. My truck MSRP'd for $45,110 and I paid $38,800 OTD.

I still may have to try to get some "extras" when it comes in...

72Combo,
How do you go about negociating for the extras?

It's impossible to compare deals as it comes down to how each dealer deals. We all know you can stop at one dealer, get a price and drive down the street and get 5K off the same truck from another dealer.

In the end the best deal is the deal you are most comfortable with.

After days of negotiating over the phone with a bunch of different dealers I got $10,000 off MSRP.

I called about 15 different dealers in 2 provinces until I finally found one that would go as low as I wanted. Once I had his price I called some of the dealers that were close enough to me that I would actually drive there to pick up the truck and told them his price.

They were like "I can tell you now, there's no way he can give it to you for that cheap." "Ok thanks, bye." Sure enough they'd call back saying they could match it. Then the two dealers who were closest to me would both match it so I pitted them against each other until finally I got the truck I wanted- well, more than the truck I wanted- I got a 2010 crew cab SXT with a bunch of extra options for the same price as the cheapest bare minimum 2009 quad cab ST I had found. And it was the colour I wanted... I was happy.

It was very draining and very time consuming but for such an expensive purchase it was worth it for me to do that- I wanted to make sure I got the best possible deal I could and I'm satisfied that I did.

True, any dealership HAS to do warranty work for you. But they don't have to like it and they don't have to make you a priority. I simply stated make sure the discount is worth what may be a hassle. If I could save 500 bucks and get crappy service, or pay the extra 500 and get great service, I can tell you who would have that 500 bucks. Wouldn't be me. Now if it was 5 grand, I would have some more money....

I know what you mean. I would be nervous to take it to a dealer I didn't buy from for service.

I got quotes from the 3 nearest dealers. The one litterally 5 min down the street from me gave me one for 1500 more then another about 25-30 minutes away which was $7,000+ under MSRP. I'll see how the trade in negotiating goes at both places and take it from there. Obviously, I would like to purchase from the dealer just down the street from my house. But I'll drive the extra 25 min to save $1500+.
