Default Truck Campers

Have a 2009 crew cab.

Anyone ever see one with a camper in the bed? Do they even make 'em that small?

Any recommendations as to where to shop?

I wouldn't put a camper in a 1500 unless it was one of those truck bed tents! You'd have a hard time getting the CofG of the camper ahead of the rear wheels as well.

Yup, I would check weight limits and centres of gravity. You could put an 8 ft camper back there with only 1.5ft of overhang but the COG would be behind the wheels.... Lots of weight on the back and skying the front end....

If you scroll to the bottom you will see that they don't recommend a camper for any crecab configuration

Dodge has been known to do that on most of their trucks. They put a sheet in the glove box that says not recommended for truck campers - then goes on to show you how to load the camper. Go figure! Back to the original question, you will be hard pressed to find a camper with the center of gravity over or in front of the rear wheels. You will have to look for one that is made for a short bed and check the COG.

Something like this may work.....

http://www.palominorv.com/site/defau...e=10&series=TC

Fairly light wieght but you would still need to measrue COG. They list it at 25", you would need to measure back from the front of your box and see where that sits.....
