2009 Ram Hemi Superchips Tuning Released
So i am about to get one of these superchips, just wondering if it is real hard on the tranny or the engine. I don't race or go the the track at all, just like to have a bad a$$ truck. Just hesitant because i bought this truck to try to have till it dies. Just wondering if it is alot more wear and tear on the truck?
Has SC truly cracked the code, will this give full control over TM and the ability to completely eliminate it? I have always had good things to say for SC and I am happy with my purchase. I do appreciate the temporary free upgrade - however I am disappointed to see SC going to a fee based option. I hope this does not set precedent for things to come. I feel what I paid my tuner purchase was worth it, but I am certainly not interested in sinking more $$ into future updates or developments.
So were the HP & Torque gains, if any, for the 87 tune ever posted on here?
And does anyone have mpg increase info for the mileage saver tune from Superchips? Also, what other changes does this tune have? Does it delay shifts? Decrease hp?

I was kind of waiting to purchase one until I saw some performance numbers posted by people other than Beta Testers or people affiliated with Superchips. Unless I missed them, I have not seen any. Could someone please post some numbers please. Thanks.

He basically said you get more performance and adds life to your trucks tranny. And ignored my question on fuel consumption. Not sure how they do that by shifting only harder. I would assume chrysler tuned it for tranny life.
IMO you'll only see gains by putting in 91 or 93 octane and setting the tune for that octane and have your tranny shift more aggressivly. And you can turn off MDS, etc.
Doesn't sound like something for people expecting to have this truck for 10 years and would not like to put more expensive gas into their truck.
I'm all for CAI and exhaust though.
doraz not necessarily true, on the trans shifting issue. chrysler has tuned the trans for "smooth" easy shifting , to make the ride more pleasant....
i.e. its essentially harder on the trans than a nice firm shifting trans....

I've got no other performance mods, and I've got a stock baseline.
. I called Superchips and they sent me a update. It didn't work either. They said they should have something else for me to try by noon tommarow, we'll see. I'm kinda bummed since I can't wait to put my tune in. What error code did the programmer give you?
