Please help!! How to get ram r/t??
There are just not many out there. I heard that with the bankruptcy and plant closings, they only shipped 106 of them as '09 models. I had to go over 200 miles away to get mine. My regular dealer never saw one, and never ordered one, because they can pretty much put you in a quad cab for the same money.
I've no idea why they couldn't order one now though.

Two weeks ago, I was considering a Ram R/T, but was unsure because of a lack of 4wd.
Did some further research, and found I can order a Ram Sport short cab/bed 4wd & 5.7 Hemi.
The only difference between the two is the 4wd adds 150lbs of weight, and a looser torque converter on the R/T.
The only criteria I can see for the 2wd in the R/T is gas mileage because if the lighter weight and performance. The R/T has a looser torque converter which will adversely affect the gas mileage, just about the same as the extra weight of the 4wd system with a tighter torque converter in the Ram Sport 4wd IMO.
Then we have performance. An extra 150lbs in a 4800lbs truck is not much when taken in context. Additionally, any performance gain you obtain from a dig with the 150lbs weight advantage is negated by the extra launching ability of a 4wd system compared to a 2wd, especially from a vehicle with a front weight bias.
So I ordered a Ram Sport short cab/bed 4wd with the 5.7 Hemi. The slight weight difference and torque converter did not give me any notable advantages IMO to give up the 4wd system.

go buy a sport or whatever and make it your own, even faster with aftermarket parts, nothing special about an R/T IMO they're very nice if thats your thing. what you do with your truck on your own is what makes it special in my book. although i understand the desire to buy and have one. good luck.

Where did you get your '09 numbers? I'd heard "around" 100 from The dealer I got mine from(I had to fly 850 miles), then I had a guy in St. Louis do some digging for me and he said the final total production was 3-400(they were in the last week of building them), but most of them were going out of the country. He made it sound like Mexico, but I know Canada got a few too. The official response from Chrysler was "no response"

I was gonna get the same truck you got, but happened to stumble upon this R/T. Can't really go wrong with either. I thought I was gonna regret not having 4wd this winter, but the truck has really surprised me.
