Default 20" wheels, 8.5" or 9" wide

I'm looking to buy some 20" wheels for my '09 Ram ST.
There are two guys here who have OEM Dodge Ram wheels they say came off of their 2009 Ram.
Why would one set be 20"x8.5" and the other guy's are 20"x9"?
Did Dodge use different size wheels?
Does it really matter which set I get?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

I don't know but strange as it may sound when I bought me a set of chrome 20in Dodge truck wheels off Ebay, the 1st thing I noticed when they were swapping them out was that the chrome ones looked like about an in wider than the stock alloy wheels. I borrowed a tape measure and checked and they were definitely more wider by an inch if I remember right. The tire guy said it wouldn't make any difference and I been running them probably 3000-4000 miles now with no problems and the stock tires fit on fine. Apparently Dodge use different size wheels on some of their trucks. Actually I like the look of the wider rims a little more, they just kinda fit the truck better and make the rims look more full fitting to me.

If you go to Dodge's Website and build your own truck, the options for 20" wheels for 2010 is 20" x 9" aluminum chrome clad, or 20" x 8" aluminum wheel. For both wheels they offer the same size tire P275/60/R20. Either one will work fine.

Either one will work fine for stock tire sizes. If the OP plans on putting bigger meats on the wider wheels would be better.

Thanks for the help.
Now I'll see if I can cut a deal.
