Did your tonnaue cover come with the cam style clamps or the bolt style clamps?

I called in my order and was very specific with the sales person that I wanted the cam style clamps as pictured on their own web site. He assured it would have the cam style clamps. So I open the box today and it has the bolt style clamps.

Bolt style clamps

Cam style clamps

On my 07 Ram, the cover came in with the bolt style and I made the shop where I bought it exchange them for the cam style.

My 09 cover came with the cam style from the get go.

Thanks that's what I was looking for, a recent example that came with cam style clamps.

There's something fishy going on with these clamps. Back in 2004 I purchased a Truxedo for my F150 expecting to get the cam clamps since that's what was shown in the photos. Yep arrived with the bolt style clamps. I called Truxedo and they told me the cam style clamps were obsolete, replaced by the bolt style clamps. Yet here we are 6 years later and there's still a mix of cam and bolt style clamps. Obviously the bolt style clamps are cheaper.

I just received my cover last week and it had the bolt on style clamps. It would have been nice to get the cam clamps though.

I just called Truxedo, they apologized and are sending me out a set of cam style clamps. They said nobody is supposed to be advertising the cam style clamps anymore but they will send them out to customers who expected to get them and didn't. They said the cam style clamps were discontinued about 6 months ago. Sounds like the same story I got 6 years ago.

Thats cool that they are taking care of you. Im sure the bolt on clamps are cheaper to produce, I guess its a cost saving measue. As long as the warranty is lifetime Im good. After installing the cover and seeing how fast it went I am going to keep my bolt on style clamps. I just fear somebody will like my cover more than me and decide to take it, and with the cam clamps it could be gone in less than 60 seconds! But it would be nice to remove the side rails without tools if you needed the extra couple inches in the bed.

Mine came with the cam style, but its about 3 years old. This is a good company that stands behind their product. I had one of the plastic pieces break on me and they sent a replacement with no problems. Didn't ask for a receipt or to send them the broken piece.
