Have an early build truck and did not have the fuel saver light. Had to have my instrument cluster replaced due to the gauges occasionally acting strange. The new cluster included the fuel saver light.

 

Maybe we can just short the current gauge out and have it replaced!

By any chance on the warranty / repair invoice would happen to have the part number for the evic/gauge cluster the dealer installed? Please post that information if you have it.

found a thread on dodge talk (mds light installation), a guy added a light to his 08 ram hemi by using an led with volt. limiter, hooked it up to 1 of the 4 MDS wires from the PCM on C3 connector, I quess what we need is to access the wire schematics and locate these wires, anyone with the actual service manual (not the one mentioned on hear for download).

I checked my invoice and there is no P/N listed for the instrument cluster.

 

if you go the ram site and look up the gauge cluster you can get the P/N but they do not show price for any of them.

 

I have a couple of friends with the 09 and one has the light and one doesn't, and they didn't think about it until I said that I installed one in my 07 with a reg led light from advance and it works great. Now the one that doesn't have it wants it.

 

So what exactly did your order from Advance Auto to display when the MDS is active? How much did your setup cost?

I'm still looking at differnt options. What is frustrating is the two dealers I've talked to don't know if putting a new cluster in will work? Go figure. Also Dodge Customer Service has been useless in getting any help on this issue.

 

I don't remember how much it cost because I had the stuff laying around in my garage u just have to make sure that the led light that you get has its only inline voltage reducer and you can see it under the shrink tape there will be a little bulge and then all u need is some wire and some crimp connections here is some pic of my install
